Depends WHAT you actually studied. The diploma itself gives you no advantage since everyone has a degree nowadays. But of course job opportunities for a STEM graduate vs some psychology or whatever women studies will be vastly different.

And yes, it was worth it because everything is better than a tedious menial blue collar job if you don't have a degree.

Yes, I learned a lot. If you go to university for anything but knowledge acquisition, then you should be culled. You’re part of the problem.

damn, you must be smart. Did you land a job with it?
also, imo it's fine to go to uni for a job qualification. People need work. You can acquire knowledge on your own too.

I was planning to go into academia, but God forbid I chose a foid advisor. One day out of nowhere she told me she was a “spousal hire” aka a roastie who was given tenure for riding dick and I told her to fuck off. Couldn’t find another advisor and so here we are.

>Was university worth it?
no but people still think if you didn't finish uni then you are low class or something in turkey because back then uni diploma was meaning social status and money but that is also changing these days slowly because of the unemployed uni people

we regulary got graduates from uni at my previous job and while they might have studied the job and trade on a university level they had absolutely no clue wtf it actually was, they where worse than trade school apprentices. some got stuck and became good blue collars, some was laid off they where useless, some used it as experience to get the office jobs they wanted.

The question you should be asking, is why is upward social mobility being locked behind getting a degree, which is locked behind university admission and "networking" with fellow students, which is heavily influenced by your parent's socioeconomic status?

Why would you go to university for language acquisition if you can just read a book? If my university wasn't giving me a degree I wouldn't go. University is for career advancement only.

Yes, I enjoyed being a crypto-NEET for three years as I studied my literature degree. I have no regrets.

What will the societal consequences of the abolition of white collar work be? Will we all work in nursing homes and healthcare until there are no more boomers left while the world around us becomes increasingly American and Chinese
