Chicago doesnt have pay toilets but they often say "paying customers only" or "employees only". Aka a pay toilet by another term. Except at the train station. I ask why....its suppose to stop drug addicts from using toilets. OK well drug addicts gotta go too what are they suppose to do? Pee their pants? Then if they try to pee on a wall (discreetly) they get in trouble for that too there was a guy who was arrested for peeing on a church. Which is wrong but WHY IS ALL THE TOILETS FOR CUSTOMERS/EMPLOYEES ONLY??

Not really, you just buy a water or something for 1€ to shut them up. Albeit IN GERMANY you can piss against trees if need be, and not get branded for life as a sex offender

Yes. Theres also always a foreigner lady at the door, with a small plate with coins on it. You are supposed to add your coin before entering. Even in automated toilets with a coin machine, the foreign cleaning lady will just hang around the entrance.

Depends on the area.
In my city Gävle we have both.
High traffic areas usually have pay-to-use toilets but the rest of the city has free ones.
Picrel is the nearest one to me, used it many times after the pub and it's free.

But if you walk up the block to where the pubs actually are, they cost money.

Businesses are pretty upfront. They'll place a "NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS" sign on the entrance, meaning that you have to buy something to use them.
