I was at a bar in San Antonio and the bartender was a female of Mexican heritage and she was being asked by someone from England, where she was from. She said I’m an American first, a Texan second and my family heritage is Mexican, does that explain it, best answer ever.

If you are Mexican, you are already an American by birth. America is a continent, not a country. I am Guatemalan, which is in the central part of the American Continent, so I am an American. If I were French or Italian, etc., I’d be an European. If I were Korean, Japanese, etc., I would be Asian. If I were Nigerian or Moroccan, etc., I would be an African. I am an American and this continent was named that way in honor of the Italian navigator Amerigo Vespucci, who created the most accurate map of this new world back then.

I’m Hispanic born and very proud to be Hispanic and raised in America my parents born in Mexico and Ecuador I love those countries and the people but I will always be loyal first to America no matter if they are at war with them America is my country all I know is here and I want the best for this country . Only reason I speak Spanish is for my parents literally. Any person born here and not loyal to this country while living your whole life here and going to school here is a traitor and should go back to their country if it’s so great .
