While the Portuguese explored the world, the Frenchmen advanved human thought, the Spaniards invented the novel and the Italians have the centre of the West as the capital, you are a comic relief country with a comic relief communist history and even your own demonym is cursed by God to be the exact same as the lowest of subcontinentals so that most people think you're identical. Romanians who emigrate assimilate faster than Celts do into Anglos. The Japanese make a famous game series about your country and name the principal characters Simon and Richter. Romanian didn't even really exist as a written language until the 19th century, so despite their location and early conversion to Christianity they were basically like Baltic/Finnic ooga boogas until recently. At least Bulgarians got their Cyrillic alphabet and Boris 1, Albanians got their Skanderbeg and Slovaks got their Svatopluk. Romania is like a black hole of history.
