I don't need AIslop, I've been to both countries and have followed their politics for years. Pashinyan wants to guarantee Armenian sovereignty. Aliyev wants a land route to Nakichevan (and by extension Turkey). Both are pissed at Russia for different reasons and don't want to deal with Putin anymore. If this deal holds they can both play the winner while the US gets to embarrass Russia and claim a foothold miles from the Iranian border.

Trump is an idiot but somebody in his administration played a very smart hand.

Russia ignored its commitments to defend Karabakh to focus on Ukraine, which allowed the Azeris to walk right into it.
