Uyghurs have the freedom to practice their religion, use their language in schools and on official documents, and their culture is promoted. Xinjiang is unironically probably the safest part of China and education and job programs exist to help fully integrate Uyghurs into modern Chinese society.

If you were in charge of your country, would you want a group like this operating freely in the countryside and carrying out terrorist attacks after getting significant combat experience abroad?
