Ancient people didn't know shit honestly. Half the scrolls there were probably /x/ tier bullshit about how to materialize girlfriends, and most of the others were just long lists of people and economic zones.

Why donโ€™t we build shit like this anymore? We should be able to surpass that stuff easily with better technology and techniques 2000 years later yet modern architecture pales in comparison to the stuff made by dudes wearing loin clothes and shitting in buckets

The burning of the Library at Alexandria wasn't as big of a deal as people make it out to be, a lot of the stuff there was just copies of other texts from other libraries, the bigger loss was having a central space for scholarly pursuits. Sure we lost some unique works, but it's not the "le we were set back 500 years" that people parrot.
