I work with a Moroccan guy who I just naturally assumed identified as Moroccan. He literally has an afro and is a devout Muslim.
The other day he was telling me some story about trying to order Chinese food, and he said "I know I'm a white guy, but I don't want to seem racist" and it genuinely took me aback. I had no idea he considered himself to be white. To be fair his skin could be described as olive toned, and he has hazel eyes that almost look blue. He still has the most Muslim sounding name imaginable.
