Israelis want to normalize with neighboring countries because it allows them to be the regional hegemon. if all the surrounding countries boycott Israel then they Israel has to rely on the U.S. as an intermediary for diplomacy etc.

I think you’re reading way too much into it. For me normalization isn’t some grand strategy to dominate anyone, it’s just wanting peace and normal relations. There's no ‘regional hegemon’ master plan, I just don’t want constant hostility with my neighbors and I think it's not just us who would benefit from peace, but you (and other countries) as well

I like peace as well, but I think there is more to it than that, especially considering that you can just impose de-facto peace militarily while as we need to acquire it diplomatically. It doesn't mean that I believe no Israeli wants normalization for the sake of peace and normal relations, but I think it does mean that at least your government is pursuing normalization for reasons that go beyond that.
