There's a German TV show were contestants have to cut up vegetables in half perfectly and I love it.

Too many people aim for the stars, seeking nothing but absolute fame and fortune.
Yet, the most satisfying and soul nurturing thing a person can do is mastering the little unimportant (in the scheme of things) skills.
Cutting vegetables, folding your laundry, boiling an egg.. Doesn't matter, just knowing and doing it perfectly is so incredibly nice.

There is no point in perfectly cutting vegetables. Consistent size is important, not millimeter precision. A kitchen isnโ€™t a lab.

Perfecting your own skill doesn't mean it has to follow set rules.
It can be cutting little cubes, stars, this size, that size.
The point is you learn a way to do it that is perfect for you. In a way you have mastered.

Your own satisfaction is a point far beyond any other.
