>>213839173In the midwest a lot of our city centers have these weird things along the main through road where it's not actually any kind of speed bump or even scarified asphalt to slow you down, it's basically these long "panels" of asphalt, like they put some thin marker in the road to separate them when paving, and each panel is angled juuuuust a bit so without actually causing any bumps, going at the marked speed makes your car sort of buck like a bronco on its suspension a bit, so if you go any faster you'll start careening more or just blend your brain over time or something. And in areas they want you to slow down more/make sure no one is riding it out, they make the panels half as long so the car bucks twice as fast. Absolutely nefarious, but brilliant, keeps everyone wanting to go 5 under on the main road if anything.
