If the Hungarian language isn’t related to any other European language, can Hungary really be considered fully European?

Bigger question is, why isn't there a language movement in Hungary to teach them these uralic tongues? Orban's willing to LARP as a Turk, he might as well LARP as a traditional pure-blooded Uralic (despite most hungarians being german and czech, primarily)

>In the second half of the 19th century, the question of whose descendants the Hungarians are induced a very serious scientific and public debate. In retrospect, Ungváry noted, it is very humorous that the most active participants in the debate were all assimilants.
>On one side are representatives of Finno-Ugric origin: Josef Budenz was born in Hesse, Pál Hunfalvy (Paul Hunsdorfer) is a descendant of a family of Zipser Saxons from Felvidék. They learned Hungarian of their own free will.
> Representing the other side, Ármin Vámbéry, whose former surname was Vamberger, was a member of a Hungarian Jewish family, and basically argued that the Hungarians were not related to the Finno-Ugric peoples, but to the Turks.
>The Finno-Ugric War took place in the Hungarian scientific press between 1869 and 1883, accompanied by all kinds of passionate asides. In the end, the parties were able to agree to some extent that linguistic affinity and biological, physical origin are two separate things and need not necessarily coincide.
