whatever can be said about the US, it's a rich country. it's also geographically huge and has a culture of movement if people are unhappy with their current living arrangement.
the UK has gone from on par with US living standards to a precipitous decline. generally people do not move nearly as much as the US, and have seen the degradation and imposed cultural change upon them over an extremely short period of time. government incompetence, inaction, and hypocrisy are served front and centre daily in every news publication.
'civil war' is hyperbole but the electorate will continue to become more radicalised and the state will make every effort to maintain control.
