The beaches are great. Excellent, even. Lots of long, white, sandy beaches with very few people. It's not that uncommon to have a postcard-quality beach all to yourself.

The water temperature on the other hand, is usually only tolerable for a couple of weeks toward the end of July when the summer sun has warmed the water for a couple of months - and just before it cools down to fucking freezing again come august.

We're about the same latitude as Anchorage, AK.....
