I've been nostalgic of San Francisco of late 90s and early 2000s.
Today, the city has declined significantly, despite the newly rich from the high-tech world who have moved in.

it really is a picturesque city, but most cities are a shell of its former self now.

California in general basically died with the 2008 recession.

There are no better cities compared to San Francisco. Yeah, I think they don't know their privileges, you know. It's like fish living in their own lake. They don't know what they have.

Why? SF hasn't changed much since the 90s and that's the problem. All the people who bought before 1960 are still here and not allowing anything new. The citywide 30' height ban is proof of it.

>same BART
>same train station (this is actually a huge problem)
>same cars (except waymo)
>same black people

The only differences are:

>FAR less crime (looting and car break-ins are much, much better than the armed assaults and murders)
>geneva towers gone (big, big improvement for public safety)
>fentanyl, meth encampments and crazy people in commercial areas
>waymo taxis instead of yellow cab
