Inferiority complex for Croats due to the fact that their national identity was constructed relatively late. Their defining nation-building myths were built in the 20th century. Their fervent servile nature towards Germans in the 40s was a backlash to a decade or two of Yugoslav Slavic rule. They saw themselves as Germanic Goths and brethren of Germans, who saw Croats as nothing but a turd race (as Hitler himself described them). Thousands of Serbs were killed or forcibly converted to Catholicism. Then communist Yugoslavia under the Croat Tito was the greatest thing to happen to them. They were given everything, from the industry being moved from Serbia to Croatia and Slovenia to the territorial concessions and the 1974 constitution. Then came the 1990s, where Operation Storm was their Battle of Kosovo—where numerically superior Croatian forces ethnically cleansed hundreds of thousands of their own citizens. Most of their history was spent in subservience up until 1945, and now again, as 20 years of independence was cut short as they knelt and swore fealty to their masters in Brussels, as is their servile nature. Half of them are Catholicized Serbs, and they're probably the biggest Serbophobes out there because your 'Croat-ness' is defined by the power of your hate towards people who are similar to you in every way except religion. Every Croat can't spend a day without thinking of Serbs or Serbia, and it shows in their online posts on Reddit, on this board, and everywhere else. They're the bravest people, not because they are not afraid but because they have no shame. Now they're a rapidly depopulating shithole, which would be even worse if they had no overpriced coast and their overreliance on the tourism industry; they import all sorts of immigrants to do the jobs Croats can't or won't do either because of the low pay or because Croats go abroad to scrub toilets in Ireland or Germany. Now they work alongside Serbs to service Germans. It's sad, really.

I've noticed this that Serbs will always without fail try to cope and convince themselves and others around them that Croatian history is actually just like Serbian history.
Bro we had an independent parliament for centuries under Hungary and Austria, and all those years back it was still probably more democratic than what Serbia manages in 21. century Belgrade - that, Serbs thinking all Croats from Labin to Brač to Ludbreg were always herzegovian sthokavian speaking people called Milan Popović and how the post-Ottoman just-starting-to-get-industrialized Serbia (according to only Serbian sources) gave its industry to Slovenia and Croatia under Tito which made them rich and Serbia poor are the unholy trinity of Serbian posts.
