I don't give a shit about "local producers" or the "national industry" or anything like that. If I can get a better/cheaper product from abroad, I want it. Adapt or die. Why should my taxes go towards gibs for inefficient businesses that make worse products?

Better is super dubious since a lot of it is commodity grade stuff and cheaper is a joke. Middlemen and distributors markup prices hard.
