I grew up one of the few natives in a pretty bad suburb, two of my nigga friends growing up were a cameroonian named "Marcel" and a congolese named "Ghislain" lmfao

They often had weird spin-off names, I knew a dude named "Jean-Béni", which literally translates to "Jhon-Blessed"
they often used nicknames, like that dude was mostly named "Béné".
Also, in my area the niggas were mostly Christians, but in places where there's more malians or senegalese they have their own names. It's probably 50/50 in Paris.

A lot of those names are either Frisian or extremely old fashioned.
That said we do all have short names. Most of the world is catching up to us though, I think Germany, France, etc all started using short, often biblical, names like Noah, Levi, Emma, Sophie, etc as well
