I work but I dislike it. Don't like how fast time passes. Don't like my coworkers even if they're nice. Don't like having people rely on me. Don't like being asked 24/7 what I do in life. But I hate being broke and homeless even more. So I will kill myself once my parents die.

I have creative aspirations to write and illustrate a comic and post my artwork online, but my job sucks so much energy out of me that I never end up working on anything when I get home.
Sometimes I fantasize about quitting my job and using the savings I have to support myself while I try to start my career as an artist. The hope is that the lack of a financial safety net will force me to work harder, but deep down I know I’d waste my time playing video games and jerking off rather than doing anything productive. So I’m probably just going to keep spinning my wheels while working this dead end job and end up kicking myself for not having a stronger work ethic once I’m old and missed my opportunity to live my life to its fullest.

I fear how hard it would be to get a job again since I’m so horrifyingly bad at interviews, I have enough savings to last years, 5+ even, but there’s a part of me considering buying a small home with that money (or rather a mortgage) and maybe I could just rent out a room and live off that (or more accurately converting the small home into two apartments, live in one and rent the other and live off what’s left), right now that seems the only route to freedom from suffering

If I weren't a coward that's what I'd do too and this is what a lot of zoomers I know have done. Work 6 months, go on unemployment for 6 months, repeat. Modify periodicity depending on what you want and how much unemployment you have left. If you cumulate enough (I think it's 18 month or a certain amount of hours idk) you can reach up to 1 and a half year of unemployment.

We used to have something like that, people worked 6 months and they asked to be fired, if they managed to get it, they could go 6 months getting some kind of welfare. They removed it because people were abusing it too much, now you need to be at least one year at company to receive it.

i watched every single jerma long edit video on youtube and while i was doing that i learned how to install and setup linux (i abandoned it a few months in and went back to windows) as well as use blender (i stopped learning and using it a few months in) which caused me to get into mechanical keyboards as a hobby too when i realized i'd need a traditional large keyboard to make it easier to work in blender, then i got into finding some channel about a guy talking about mechanical keyboards being shit so i abandoned that fixation and him renovating an abandoned soviet house in estonia which caused me to go to my great grandparents abandoned house and work on fixing it (i abandoned the attempt midway when i realized i dont have money to do any major repairs), then i got into learning about slavic native faith and slavic mythological pantheon, as well as getting into schizo neo nazi russians and reimbursing my interest into russian grunge music and also got me into playing and modding stalker, as well as playing metro and reading the metro books. i also watched like a billion documentaries on video games, as well as went on niche rpg forums to argue about things nobody cares about for months and tried writing a book then gave up on it. I also tried watching every movie from /tv/ top list and making a huge library of /mu/'s approved albums, which i would delete multiple times midway because i thought i didn't name them properly in order or didn't download correct qobuy highest quality flac files, i also worked on a ebook collection and went into deep autism of editing each ebook in calibre to make them match nicely, then realized i'd need to work on formating and covers too and that took up a few weeks too. Now I need a couple gap years to recover from the stress caused in my last 4 gap years. Time to rest and get my energy back up, it's been rough neeting away for so long.

Were you using Mint or Ubuntu? Do you have any Blender projects saved up and what did you start with? What's your favorite kind of keyboard now? Mine is the one I use, a capacitive keyboard. What were the major issues with renovating the house? And yes, renovating a house is expensive, even when you do it yourself, but it's also very tiring and dangerous. I once got my arm stuck under a huge rock I was trying to move when working on my house. In the middle of nowhere with the phone 6 meters away from me. Started digging with my other hand underneath the stuck arm to get free. Blood everywhere. How did you go from practical skills to being interested in slavic mythology? You seem to have tried a lot of things, but what have you learned? That was what I asked. I had periods where I tried a lot of different things too but I didn't learn anything really substantial, just very surface level knowledge that slowly faded away. I did the same thing as you with lists except it was when I was in high school.

I distrohopped all over the placed but spent most of my time in Fedora Workstation & KDE Plasma Edition. I have a few small blender mods I made for Cyberpunk and Witcher for myself just some edits for characters I wanted to touch up to make them look more like I'd imagine them in the books or how I'd prefer them to be. Rn, I'm just on a cheap Redragon mechanical keyboard that was on sale in my local place. It was pretty easy to clean up the house and get the trash out and reorganize things, but there were two rooms with mold, most of the windows were old and completely fucked and needed replacing, and the water system was cooked too as it was a really old rural house, the right side of the roof needed replacements too. Not really feasible for me to fix that, as it'd take major money investment and I don't know if I'd even live there or not, or if it could be sold for a good price as it's in middle of nowhere. I got into slavic mythology on a whim from youtube recommendations and shitposts, it was just a fun topic that I wanted to learn more about, none of the knowledge is really important but I find topics I autistically find myself interesting in much easier to focus on than on real life issues I need to actually get done. I think I learned a lot of shit, shit nobody cares about, not really practical or useful skills to me in real life. But I did get some physical fitness in which was a big goal to avoid muscle atrophy and make sure I'm healthy and feel good physically at least, I haven't drank a soda or alcohol in like 1 and a half years beyond new year parties or other holidays. I spent most of the time doing jackshit and just listening to music and shitposting, but I do like that I read a lot of books so at least I can larp as intelligent. Honestly NEETing is pretty shit, it's hard to get shit done when there's no peer or other sort of social pressure. I spent like 4 years saying I'd get a driving license and search for a job lol

Get a job. If you hate it you can quit them use the experience to get a job again whenever you want. But for that you have to get a job. Same with a driver's license. It's shit and annoying but once you have it you can just choose to never drive again or never bother with that shit but at least you have titles, be it a license or experiences, that will make it wayyyy easier to get a job if you really need one. Because I don't know how you're surviving, but family funds run dry. Also spiderland is massively overrated.

I am employed in the same department I started working in when I was 22 years old in graduate school. I am 41 now. initially I worked part-time when I was in graduate school. then I dropped out of my phd program, but continued to work part-time (40+ hours but no benefits, because they refused to hire people full-time). eventually after 5 years they hired me full-time and made me a supervisor. the pay was not great (still isn't) and I had to work every weekend. eventually the company was sold to another huge company. I still work in the same department for this new company and have been a manager for a few years now. unfortunately, I am coming to the end of my time here. there is no definitive date yet but they have started to outsource our work to contractors in South America. soon they will release about 25 part-time staff who are under me and replace them with 30 Argentinians. I assume eventually they'll work their way up to replacing me.

sounds like you have a job driving all around the city, restocking vending machines, emptying their coins, taking the coins to the bank, having damaged machines repaired, and negotiating with businesses to house your vending machines. It's more work than an average office job; you just get to make your own hours, which is convenient.

Yes. I'm 26 and did a free tution program through Starbucks for 3 years, then I quit my job because I fucking hated it and convinced my dying mom to sign for loans in my name. After I finish in the Summer of next year I plan to get a master's in Europe and get citizenship in either France, Belgium, or Germany until the wave of populism dies. Though if the US economy collapses like it's likely to with the litany of retarded positions the government's taking, I might be fucked out of getting a job and consequently citizenship post-masters, unless I marry a Yuropoor. I might just marry a bottom of the barrel girl to get by if that's the case. I am not bad looking and can fake confidence, so that's probably what's going to happen. I hate working jobs with customer service. Some people are pretty fun, but the assholes ruin it.
