I live here.
It's by a mile the most soulless place on the planet to where it feels more like a dystopian movie set than a place where real people live. And it's not nice or anything either, it has all the rampant crime and homeless issues all the big cities do (despite the small Black population).

How the fuck does the homeless even live there when it gets fucking hot as hell? I swear they are all in LA (where I was born and raised) up through Seattle as the west coast has better weather and more progressives who'll let homeless leech off the social welfare programs.

>How the fuck does the homeless even live there when it gets fucking hot as hell?
Digits.
Anyway, they usually live under bridges and in/near bus stops. A lot of them set up camp around transformer boxes too and make little spots there. When the weather is nicer they move around, and they're everywhere. Just coming back from church last week I had some crazy hobo walking around in the middle of the road trying to kill himself, and my Dad a couple months back saw a hobo with their brains splattered all over the concrete by my Brother's school's bus stop.
AZ in particular has one of the worst drug problems in the country and has for a very long time, so our hobos are particularly scary and sad even compared to California.

California has its problems, not going to lie but it is by FAR the most amazing state in the US and has so much more to offer than all other states cannot provide.

Imagine if you shrunk the world and all it offers into a city and you have LA.

Imagine if you have the greatest technological innovations on the planet in a city and you have Silicon valley.

The weather and natural beauty is unrivaled by any state. Simply put, it is the reason why everyone wants to move here and also why so many bitter jaded people always talk shit about it.

That 100 yards of strip by the 'river' is the best spot of San Antonio. The rest of it is a miserable hellscape of suburban poverty boxes. Its a depressing city and I wish people go there to experience how miserable that place truly is. The heat and humidity makes it unbearable too.

There is homeless and drug problems all over our largest cities. CA is no different. Its isolated to several places though. You rarely see it in suburbs or in nicer areas like Orange County which is south of LA County and has the most Whites and high income Asians and many safe neighborhoods. Its mainly around the Downtown LA and East LA and black/brown neighborhoods that you'll see it the most but even then its isolated and easy to avoid. In Orange County I rarely saw homeless and never a tweaker but I see them easily in downtown LA or in the ghetto areas.

SF if fucking magic though. If you're rich, California is paradise.

Have you actually been there?
I don't know Korea like you do but thats like saying you want to live in a city like Gyeongju. You only live there if you were born there or you got some amazing job offer there. No one really WANTS to go there to live.

I've been to LA twice and SF once but by Swedish standards it just wasn't that fantastic. It was cool but it seemed like even if you were rich, you could barely let your kids play outside because just a few blocks away there would be junkies and trash. Having to commute 1h in each direction to avoid this doesn't seem worth it to me. I really liked Rowland Heights in LA for example, very beautiful, and the suburbs in the bay area was nice, but then again, everything is so far in between and we have suburbs here too without many of the problems of American cities. Of course we have our immigrant no go zones but they are more segregated than the problematic people in America from what I can tell. Just my limited experience though, I love America despite the things I mentioned

hit up the suburbs if you ever go back. you haven't seen the actual places people live.

Rowland Heights/Diamond Bar is a nicer area but its mainly Chinese and Koreans though and prices are jacked up because of it.

You may like Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, and Irvine by the sounds of things. Also, San Diego is pure bliss for those who haven't been there. Its like SF and LA mixed but nice.
