especially that they believed that Jews did not contribute much to the country/nation but only cared about their own community
these sentiments are actually quite common in all other countries where there is a small intellectual elite of a foreign background, just Jews are getting disproportionate attention in the west for various reasons
we had a similar sentiment against Germans too, just it's less discussed now because there were less Germans than Jews and because Germans largely emigrated out of Poland willingly after WW1.
in many SEA countries they have exactly the same deal with Chinese who make up an intellectual and business elite there and when I read about their ethnic conflicts it's 1:1 the same what we had with Jews before WW2, so it's not really something about Poles/Russians, it's simply human nature, we don't like foreign ethnicities ruling over us, simply
