The USA didn't. We didn't have the cash or intelligence network to do that kind of shit back then. They revolted because the Mexican Empire was a incompetent, corrupt shithole. There were only a few 10000s of people in California at that time too by the way, so it isn't like it was filled with Mexicans when we took it and developed it.

That's fine, the Achaemenids were undoubtedly peak persia.
But didn't the Safavids have a deeper and lasting impact on your cultural identity. I believe they are the architects behind the soul of Persia, as we remember it today.
The Pahlavis in contrast just had a brief reign where they pushed politically unstable and authoritative -nationalist movements centred around modernism.

Shia pisslam was a bigger cancer than sunni pisslam. Kind true.
>The Pahlavis in contrast just had a brief reign where they pushed politically unstable and authoritative -nationalist movements centred around modernism.
You also forgot the part that the only reason the current regime is even functioning is because they inherited the foundations of Pahlavis which wouldn't be possible if they hadn't aggressively modernized Iran which was still in middle ages tier during early 20th century.

>You also forgot the part that the only reason the current regime is even functioning is because they inherited the foundations of Pahlavis
The current trad regime came to power as a direct consequence of the Pahlavis' failure as a legitimate government.
You can't bulldoze a nation's cultural identity and then authoritatively force modernism down its throat.
Instead of letting Iran evolve organically, the Shah tried to overwrite its culture and traditions with a glossy, state mandated vision of progress. resulting in political alienation and a fracture that allowed the revolution to take hold and thrive.

The Pahlavis personally build the framework of the governance you have today. Not in a positive way.
>Shia pisslam was a bigger cancer than sunni pisslam. Kind true.
You're not irreligious btw. Just be clear when you say that to people.

No. I just saw it and replied.
>The current trad regime came to power as a direct consequence of the Pahlavis' failure as a legitimate government.
This is blatantly false, bullshit made up by USA and UK to cover up their own involvement to bring Khomeini as their supposed good golem puppet.
>You can't bulldoze a nation's cultural identity and then authoritatively force modernism down its throat.
Except there was no national culture in Iran prior to Reza Shah. Every retard in every province had its own medieval tribal mentality which was also full of incompetence and backstabbing.
>Instead of letting Iran evolve organically, the Shah tried to overwrite its culture and traditions with a glossy, state mandated vision of progress. resulting in political alienation and a fracture that allowed the revolution to take hold and thrive.
Iran would never evolve organically as long as it was taken hostage by its clerical social class, and UK and Russia holding it by its balls because of oil and strategic geopolitical position. Their vision worked which is why Iran is one of the few countries in West Asia that isn't a blatant shithole lagging behind in technology like Afghanistan or Iraq. You're making shit up out of your own ass, at least educate yourself on this before saying anything.
>The Pahlavis personally build the framework of the governance you have today. Not in a positive way.
They didn't let in mullahs into politics and then drain every underground water resources for a pointless nuclear program.
>You're not irreligious btw. Just be clear when you say that to people.

You're overplaying the power yakubian devils have on sovereign nations, without capitalising on mass discontentment already present in most levels of society.

These are common talking points, not a persian person's own perspective like I was hoping to get. I never even argued that modernisation was bad.
>Get real, anon

The Mexicans in California actually wanted to become part of British North America at the time as they were fucking sick of the Mexican government and wanted a bulwark against another Euro power trying to take them over. More than half of the Mexicans in California just ended up siding with the Anglo-American Californians during the Mexican-American war. Basically they just stipulated that they wanted to retain their land rights and some trade advantages.

I legitimately don't understand why the US didn't just take over Cuba at the end of the Spanish American war. We basically did just that but with extra steps during the Batista era. Should have just taken it as a formal territory like Puerto Rico. Application of civil law like in Puerto Rico would have ultimately ended the most egregious issues the Cubans had with the Batista era politics so the communists would have never had enough steam to take over either.
