They're...middle eastern aka brown.
But due to their proximity to "europeans" and people they perceive as white (caucasians/georgians/armenians/turks...) they have an inferiority complex and push their few roman leftover rapebabies to prop up their image as whites and claim to be white by proxy
Same reason turkish soap opera actors are handpicked to look a certain way
