The majority of America is soulless forested swamp. The interesting places are less than half the country's landmass.

Most of that land is reservations, military testing, military bases, or national reserves. Nobody lives on those plots. Hell, you can't even stay there without some ranger popping up and fining you or asking if you have some gay permit. Free country my ass.

The State has no use for millions of miles of forest and mountains.
Which is perfect, because that leaves it free for recreation.
Give that to private citizens and it would be raped and pillaged for all its material worth.

The best way to respect nature is to not fuck with it.
The government doesn't fuck with national parks because the land is strategically useless. That is just fine.
On the other hand every fucking soulless developer dreams of putting a $50 million mansion with a view of Yellowstone right in the middle of the park to sell to some oil baron or Silicon Valley spyware vendor.

Do you retards think that because some of these swamps get snow, that they're not swamps? Everything East of Oklahoma is swamps and full of bug eating hicks. All they eat over there is crawfish and corn. That whole part of the country is flat. There's some elevation here and there like in Tennessee, but they don't have proper mountains. Nothing beautiful or impressive about those states. Colorado and all things West of it are what carries 90% of this country's image when it comes to natural landscapes.

we are a blessed country with just about every natural vista available within our borders. ive been to the following:
denali park in alaska
lake tahoe in nevada/cali (pic related)
yosemite in cali
estes park colorado
teddy roosevelt park in north dakota
savannah georgia (not like the rest of the list of course but very charming)
cape cod massachusetts

and I recommend all of them to visitors. if you are american then the "america the beautiful" pass is one of the best purchases you can make
