Kuban/Black Sea coast is the only region with a sub-tropical climate in Russia. In fact, these lands are used more for growing tea, grapes, tangerines, figs, and other southern crops than for wheat/cereals.
There is almost no winter/frost there because the Caucasus Mountains shield this region from the north-east wind.

>Soil resilience is the capacity of soil to resist, adapt to, and recover from disturbances like drought, floods, or intensive farming practices. It is enhanced by maintaining healthy soil structure, which includes good aggregation and high organic matter, and by fostering a diverse biological community of microorganisms, fungi, and other organisms. Key threats to soil resilience include erosion from practices like over-plowing, deforestation, and overgrazing, which degrade soil quality over time.

Anonymous United States No.215904800 [Report]
>>215897663 (OP)
>New England's soil is generally poor due to rocky, glacial till and a short growing season, which made large-scale agriculture difficult in the region's history. Early farmers had to clear stones to make fields arable, limiting them to subsistence farming and forcing many to turn to other industries like fishing and trade. Today, while modern farming methods and specific crops have adapted, the region's soil is still characterized by its rocky, uneven, and shallow nature, often with underlying sand.

>Scandinavia has historically faced challenges with poor soil quality due to factors like glaciation, which stripped fertile topsoil, leaving behind acidic and thin soils, often with a high proportion of sand and clay. This makes agriculture difficult, and historically, populations have relied on a combination of more resilient crops, like barley and oats, hunting, and fishing. Modern threats to soil health, such as erosion, loss of organic matter, and compaction, continue to impact agricultural productivity.

tl;dr

>North Germany has poor soil primarily due to extensive sandy areas called Geest, which are formed from glacial deposits and are low in water retention and nutrients. Additionally, some regions have issues with soil compaction in the subsoil and are vulnerable to wind erosion, particularly in flatter, coastal areas. While some parts have fertile soil from glacial till, the sandy plains pose significant agricultural challenges.
