i feel oddly selfish learning a language just so i can consume a piece of media i love easier.
I adore k-dramas, but the idea of learning korean just for that one reason... It makes me feel like a poser, almost

I literally learned German after listening to Rammstein for over a decade because I wanted to understand what they were saying.

I studied French to read French literature but I wasn't passionate about French literature, the only novel I had read up to that point was L'Étranger
I studied Old Norse to read Old Norse literature and I had read a fair bit and I am passionate about it
Now I'm studying Japanese to read Japanese literature because I like Mishima and enjoy Akutagawa, Ihara Saikaku, Kenko and Chikamatsu
I can't see any other reason to learn a language besides being an immigrant

I know spanish from origin
English from vidya and schools
Want to learn
Russian because i think is the coolest language and also sounds comfy
German because i might have possibility of citizenship
Finnish because is where i would like to live
Japanese because i want to enjoy japanese culture in the language
Chinese because its the future
The rest of the romance languages, because these are the closest to my main original spanish
