I never understand this meme that the richest areas of countries want to secede. I live in San Francisco, which is very rich. And even though my taxes go to welfare states like Mississippi or Alabama (republican shitholes) I don't want to leave America.

because america is an actual federation. in all other countries, the rich area ends up paying more to the union than it receives and the poor people never become less poor. in Brazil specifically, the poors are also coming to our states and making favelas and criminal groups.
