Making it a priority to provide housing for all of their citizens was a noble cause and for the most part very successful. To this day many USSR era apartment building are still in use.
It’s a shame that government provided housing will now forever be associated with “muh commies”. Those of us living in the west will continue having to take out a loan from Mr. Goldberg that we will never be able to pay back and remind ourselves how lucky we are to not being living in a totalitarian state like Soviet Russia.

yes he was a tsarist officer. Most finns weren't. he sacrificed his own ideals for Finlands sake, in much the same way as many former reds who fought for Finland in ww2 against the soviets.
And besides this story is false on the basis that Mannerheim didn't live in Helsinki for the last years of his life, he lived in Switzerland.
Mexicans don't need to be careful about anything at all because they are very short, very ugly, fat and brown and therefore have nothing to lose in life. Ironically, this is their greatest strength.
