Dear Australianons, I am an American, but I have been offered a decent living from my employer in Adelaide. I travelled there once previously, but I was unable to really explore much sadly. I am reasonably wealthy and single, so I would likely attempt to date there if I were to go. I still haven't made up my mind yet, and I hope to get your advice. Is it a nice place to live? Are Americans able to integrate into Australian life? Is there anything I would need to know?

It's famous for being the most boring city in the country. I'd call it a glorified country town but glorified is an overstatement.

Adelaide is small, relatively boring, but chill. The dating dynamics are roughly the same as in America, if you were incel in America you’ll be incel here, perhaps even more so since Australia is a hypernormgroid country like Canada. You’ll be able to integrate fine because you speak English natively. Some people are butthurt about America right now because of blumpf and occasionally someone will be rude, but it’s relatively rare and anyone stupid enough to judge you for being born somewhere isn’t someone you want to be friends with anyways.

Only city really worth living in is Melbourne and you want to live in the inner-north as well (Fitzroy, Calton, Brunswick). It's basically the only city in Australia where you will have a comparable decent quality of life to a good European/NA city.

If you do move to Australia, basically try find your local Doof scene as fast as possible because they are basically a lifeline in terms of "nightlife" in Australia since Australia basically only has decent nightlife in Spring and Autumn.
