Where I live they are protected and if you kill one you get a 50k fine some years in prison and animal right activists with nothing to do all day harassing you and your family until your last living day, but since there are quite a few herders they kill some secretly to protect their herds

they are rarely seen even if they roam around much of norway because they avoid humans at all cost.
if one get the taste for livestock its quickly hunted down either illegaly in silence or legally.

in the US we hunt burrs and durr to keep their numbers manageable. in like yuropistan the government just kills all the wild animals.
Hunting is the best way to do it. like 75% of US conservation money comes from hunters and I'm sure the only reason the africans haven't completely culled the big five game is because rich Americans will pay a dick load to shoot an elephant or lion
