GDP growth is ultimately meaningless if it doesn't translate into improved living conditions for the majority of the population, and the limited research I just did indicates the poverty rate has increased significantly since 2019 (from ~4.3% to ~5.2%)

I really doubt that. Japan and Korea have hugely popular domestic pop-cultures, and SEA countries have a warm weather, beautiful nature and prostitution. Each of these either attract nerds, normies who have money and / or love to party, or creeps.

Clearly the first two groups of people have no reason to visit neither Kazakhstan or Mongolia. Half of the people in Europe can't even find Kazakhstan on the world map, despite its size. Majority of people know nothing about Mongolia, either. I don't see why this would change, so your waifus are safe.
