Anyone with properly functioning tastebuds would never decline proper fish & chips, cottage pie, bangers & mash, English breakfast, etc.

Out of all the authentic cuisines I've tried, the best have been English and Balkan by a long shot. Cornish pasties and chip shop pies and sausage rolls were my favorites when I was there.

I know TikTok (and social media in general) rarely corresponds with reality, but it's hard not to notice how relatively common anti-British sentiment seems be amongst American zoomers. All the "Bri'ish" memes that cropped up over the past decade or so, are now completely mainstream. It's not like the lighthearted ribbing of decades past either. There seems to be an undercurrent of genuine contempt behind a lot of them and it's seemingly come out of nowhere. Honestly seems like a psyop to me.
