Why does no one wants to learn Bahasa Melayu? Not even Malaysian learnt it

Is Malaysia a Malay supremacist state despite malays being out competed by Chinese lol

Malaysians speak English? I thought they spoke Malay

Lol. EVERYONE speaks BM. It's the language that all races understand. English is also widely spoken but good luck using it if you're a local. People will think you're a show off and will shun you. I grew up in Straya and spoke English with a heavy Sydney accent. I was ostracised and ignored when I returned to Malaysia until I learnt the Manglish accent. In rural areas, people speak Malay regardless of race. Thing is, it is usually the non-standard Malay dialects and creoles, not the "book" Malay taught in schools.

Nope, Tagalog is not similar to those barbarian languages.

Bisaya, the language of subhumans, is similar with Bahasa Melayu and Bahasa Indo.

Tagalog is the most beautiful language in SEA and it's an insult you are comparing it with bottom tier languages
Anonymous Indonesia No.216442925 [Report] >>216443167
Is there a pinoy bot that will automatically trigger if you mention Tagalog o algo?
Another piece of brown shit ruining this board, I guess.

Not a bot. I just don't like listening to languages which sound like being mad all the time. That is what I think of subhuman Bisaya and Bahasa languages

I thought Malaysian and Tagalog would be somewhat similar

Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia and Bahasa Filipino may have the same words due to the historical influences all had on each other. But they follow different grammar strctures iirc.

It looks to me Indonesians have some weird inferiority complex stemming from the fact that "their" colonizers didn't teach them their European language (for kinda racist reasons I guess) so they constantly tell Malaysians off for speaking "their" European language.
I'm pretty sure if Dutch was commonly spoken across Indonesia, they wouldn't be so butthurt about people abandoning Bahasa in favor of it.
Anonymous France No.216445049 [Report] >>216445323
>>216444870
then pinoys and malays would make fun of them for speaking dutch

well, Dutch would also have a different image if it was commonly spoken by a 250 million nation and heard/seen everywhere across the Internet, same like French people don't think Portuguese sounds funny because Brazilians make it so commonly heard everywhere so people are used to its sound. If it was only spoken by Portugal, probably hearing Portuguese would make French or Italian people die of laughter.

we don't think about portuguese at all. And we don't see it like english speakers see dutch. It sounds like a slavic language to us. We also barely know about the existence of brazil tb h

there's a pagpag-tier dish in every SEA country, just sadly for the Philippines, being part of the American popculture sphere makes any bad thing from PH quickly exposed to the international audience, while no one knows about similar stuff from Indonesia or Vietnam because no one speaks English there
Anonymous Philippines No.216447027 [Report]
>>216446479
There are several nuances that make pagpag posting funny though. It's not about the dish itself.
Here's a brief history
>Liberals in the capital make fun of the rest of the country for being poor(mind you they aren't even the ones generating wealth, Chinese are responsible for that)
>Eventually the rest of the country find out that people in the capital eat garbage despite larping as first worlders
>Hilarity ensues
