no, the numbers are legit, Argentina wasn't able to fight at it's best for a lot of external reasons. The UK conspired with Chile to mobilise their air force and mass Chilean troops on the Argentine border. The Junta always considered Chile the real threat not, the UK and they stationed their best troops on the border with Chile which meant the vast majority of Argentine soldiers on the Falklands were the conscripts.

The UK also received aid from the US, They gave us AIM-9L which significantly strengthen the Harrier (which was nominally a ground attack aircraft) refused to give Argentina fuses for their bombs and also embargoed Argentina.

I can't find any direct evidence that outright states the US specifically embargoed Argentine access to jet fuel other than an interview with an Argentine Navy aviator I saw somewhere. But, in any case it makes sense because from their testimonies they didn't have enough fuel to engage the harriers either. They would fly to the combat zone, fly an attack pattern and egress when a harrier showed up. If it wasn't for these limitations the Harriers would have been slaughtered by the Mirages and Argentina would have air superiority.

As for the ground war, The Royal marines and paratroopers far outclassed the Argentine conscripts (some of them have said their rifles didn't even work), they were bombed and mortared and the only units equal to the British were the Argentine Marines who were surrounded and had to surrender without any support.

All in all, from the outside it seems like a curb stomp but, if you really examine the details you realise it was way closer than it seems and there was some luck involved but, also a lot of diplomatic skill

It was more one sided in favour of the argies. You do realise sending your navy, air force and ground troops from the north atlantic all the way from your home base to the south atlantic where the enemy can easily resupply is not just a logistical nightmare but also a massive uncertainty that the force will even make it to their intended destination. It took a month for the task force to arrive in the falklands.

Had the Argies waited 5 more years, it would have happened anyways. Bongs were also drastically downsizing the Royal Navy. Had the Argies waited a few more years, the Bongs would have scrapped/sold all of their carriers. The Argies was also banking on the world siding with them on the "anti-colonialism" sentiment but the US placed NATO as more important while the British Commonwealth sided with Britain.

Thatcher was hell bent on dismantling the RN to save a few sheckles in the belief that all future wars are nuclear wars. Almost all their fleet carriers were scrapped and the RN was to change focus to nuclear subs and ASW. As a result, Bongs couldn't field Phantoms from fleet carriers and were actually forced to use some RAF Harriers when the war started. It is a credit to RAF pilots that they could do carrier landings at all. Also, only having 2 carriers meant the entire operation was dicey. Lose even 1 of the carriers and the war is lost. Hence, the bong carriers had to be kept far from the islands, allowing Argie jets to sink British ships including the important SS Atlantic Conveyor and the transport ship carrying troops.

The british air force was just bad, their most advanced jet was the F-4 phantom and they had exactly one carrier that could field those, so the falklands were fought with Harriers, the original british harriers were plain awful and easy food for highly advanced argentinian mach 2 capable Mirage IIIs with long range radar missiles

Of course ammo, fuel, and spare parts were not infinite, after argentina got raped by global embargoes they were left fighting with sticks and stones at that point they called it quits. Both chile and brazil denounced the war btw
