I'm an Irish-American and have been doing some genealogical research into my family, which came over to America in the 18th century.
Discuss your own families and genealogies. Did any of your ancestors do anything noteworthy or interesting? Are any of your recent ancestors from another country?

my Irish ancestors were given land in Connecticut for fighting in the "Siege of Derry" and the "Battle of the Boyne" can any Irish anons tell me the significance of those things?

ethiopian, my grandparents were both teachers. my great grandmother was a debtera and great grandfather was an italian soldier

irish. grandparents were only born Mayo and Cork. my great grandmothers and one great grandfather were from rural farmer families. my great grandfather emigrated from Milan to Ennis during WWI.

It's happened before with Eric Clapton where is "sister" gave birth to him out of wedlock and was so ashamed she let her parents raise the baby as their child and she pretended to be the sister

My paternal line comprises of Irish from Western Ireland and some Scots, some of them being convicts, and there's apparently a relation with a French Prime Minister shortly after the revolution, though I haven't investigated it.

I'm a Palestinian-American.
My family came over in the late 1900s after Israel displaced them.
My grandfather used to work as a locomotive engineer under the British Empire.
