On one hand, I have a lot of sympathy for Indians trying to make it out of India because why wouldn't they? And I have a feeling the ones who got out decades ago were from higher castes who had it easier emigrating, relatively speaking.
But the problem with the more current waves of emigration is the sheer number. While it's comfortable to know that you're with other Indians in a foreign country, it reduces the urgency to adapt.
Another point is that earlier waves of Indian emigration seem to hold less of that weird India = Superpower superiority complex that recent emigrants do, which is probably due to exposure to domestic propaganda.
So, while it's easier than ever to move out from India, you have to understand that we natives see some pretty big differences between you and the preexisting Indian diaspora.
