Used to be a SEK millionaire, then decided I hated working and now on the dole and unemployable because of 8+ year gap. Could do good shit still if someone asked, but this world sucks and it would never happen.

I had just come back from TESOLing in Asia for a couple of years. At 24, I moved in with my girlfriend, who was getting a PhD, and I was about to start grad school. I had a job in a university library and approximately zero money—I came back from Asia with a little over $7K saved.

There's really nothing grammatically wrong with what OP wrote:
How much money did you have saved (at age 24)?
Similar to asking present tense, "How much money do you have saved?"

At 24, I had a car, owned a house, and rented an apartment in Mexico City.
But I was an irresponsible NEET who only had sex with older men all the time.
Twink death came, and now I'm settling down, trying to start university. I don't live in Mexico City anymore.
Although I'm still a loser who never leaves his house, but who cares, I don't need to work to live.
