unrelated but back in the early 00s i'd be downloading music and find out the songs had gaps in them. turns out record labels would put out custom sampler CDs with bits of silence throughout the audio so when it showed up online they could trace it back to who leaked it and blacklist them. record labels also put up blackhat copies of all their artists work online compressed down to the most dogass sounding generational loss bullshit and passed them off as 320kbps to make people think piracy wasn't worth it. anyone who lived through this era is well in their right to be suspicious of strange sources.

Basically, when choosing whether to buy a Roland Fantom or a Yamaha Montage keyboard, a lot of people pick the Yamaha Montage for it's "FM" synthesis, a type of synthesis specific to Yamaha.

Of course, the other type of synthesis specific to Yamaha is Vocaloid.

At the same time, one of the Roland Fantom's strengths is that it has a great sampler, so it can sample other instruments and reproduce them very well. The only difficulty is that no one has written a good tutorial about it, and no one has published Yamaha samples to use with Roland Fantom.

It seems to be something that everyone wants, but that no one has done. So, that's what I am working on.
