What are you playing? What are you looking forward to? What have you finished?
i don't know if it's because i've been starved for tragic romance, but StarTRain has really taken me by surprise. i was struggling to take my midday nap because i was quite emotionally tied up with a plot point. maybe it shows more weakness in the heroine routes, but so far it's shaping up to be one of my favourite things i've touched this year
Cute nails in my chuunige!?
does da capo 1 get any better. This is painfully mediocre

>>49594665>also septemberI'm going to be reading September's releases for the rest of 2025, aren't I? Space it out a little you fucks. At this rate we're going to have Marmalade announcing a September release date too and sticking to it somehow.
>>49594059i don't think i've ever seen anyone like da capo 1
>>49593739i too want to play this
Finished the new DeepOne trial. Pretty short, one chapter with two short battles with monsters. Special effects during fights are great still, they probably poured all their budget into that since the MC isn't even partially voiced this time.
The premise and the fact that there's an antagonist group already makes it more interesting than the first game but said antagonist group didn't show up in the trial so who knows whether they'll actually be fun. They're also doing this meta thing through the flowchart where (You) get to help out by viewing extra scenes that unlock through the game that will contribute to the plot somehow.
The writer took criticism about lack of h-scenes in the first game pretty hard it seems so he threw in sex with the loli right after the prologue battle and has sample h-scenes for the other girls in the trial too. Pretty nice.
Not enough to tell whether the game will actually be good this time, but it's not like us chuunibros are getting anything else this year.

She isn't quite jirai-kei enough. I hope there is still some margin for her to build up explosive power.

>>49595376I loved Da Capo 1 as anime and I probably wouldn't be reading eroges right now if not for it.
But I'm too afraid to be disappointed to read it now.
>>49596310That's just EGS's placeholder date.
>>49596356They're going to delay it so many times that such date will be plausible anyway.
>>49596494According to their fanbox post they actually got in trouble with some retailers, so there likely won't be another delay of an official release date.
Why are DMM/DLSite/FANZA and other Japanese platforms so stingy with discounts on eroge? I either see prices like 500 yen (only for very old games), or 30%, maybe 50% off at most. They never go beyond 50% — why? What’s stopping them? Every year it’s the same exact discount rates during sales, it’s not even funny anymore. It doesn’t compare at all to other platforms where you can see 80% or even 90% off...
>>49596641For DLsite you're supposed to use your coupons. I assume FANZA has something similar.
>>49596641>What’s stopping them? They're Japanese. JP games on steam rarely go under 50% too
>>49597483I think you accidentally posted this in the wrong thread.
This is the untranslated VN general.
I like drama like ef series, but mitsuki's route is the ONLY thing I like in kiminozo… well even though I love-hate her as a character she is fine in her own route (except that slap scene). Playing haruka's and akane's route made me appreciate her more. As for the sub-heroine routes…… yeah no thanks. Would reread mitsuki's route again one day tho :'X
>>49598008I am playing Mitsuki’s route right now, near the end but not quite there yet. For some reason I just really want Takayuki to end up with Haruka, so when he does things like try to run away from Haruka’s room during her sad monologue, I get irritated. Makes me wish I can go to Haruka’s route. But maybe my mind might change once I actually get there.
Would you say you just liked Mitsuki as a character more from the beginning? I know I did but my mind changed as the story went along…
>>49597483Nope. That translation totally destroys original writing and has a bunch of factual errors too. Learn the language and you'll understand.
VNs deserve better.
>>49598008>>49598283Damn guys, should I hop onto playing KimiNozo too?
>>49598687Yeah, it’s actually not bad at all so far. A lot of naysayers in the English community for some reason.
>>49598991because the english community is playing the fucking dreamcast script which was then translated by some literal who
>>49598687I like it, but I totally understand why people would hate it. It's really uneven in terms of route quality too.
>>49598008You have to at least try the green devil route. I personally liked Daikuuji's too.
Aokana if giving a route to the cutest girl
>>49598283Bro I wish haruka is being happy... WITHOUT takayuki, cuz he's such a big jerk and creates a forced drama in her route. In mitsuki's route takayuki does have a little char development (better than none) and getting better in afterstory... Since you already saw that heartbreaking scene, well, haruka is strong and her strength made takayuki getting stronger, so the ending made me satisfied. some ppl dislike mitsuki's route, mitsuki and takayuki "run away" from their past (not really tho) unlike haruka's route where everyone being together again just like in the past yay yay happy end yay but idc... I think mitsuki's route suits this overall VN
I sure I did like mitsuki in chapter 1. MC had a better chemistry with her than haruka, however that part where she begged takayuki to buy her a present I got irritated to BOTH OF THEM (takayuki being a people pleaser agreed to her so it's his fault asw) then Rumbling Hearts then THAT INFAMOUS CHAPTER 2 BEGINNING OH GOD!!! But I can't bring myself to 100% hate mitsuki I understand her feelings since she already threw her.. everything away, her swimming career etc. for takayuki, hence she doesn't have anything else but him... GAH
>>49599430Nah thanks I've seen the green nurse spoiler and mitsuki bad ends were enough to broke me :)
>>49599962I just feel like Mitsuki comes off as naggy and needy in her route when clearly Takayuki was still obsessed with Haruka. I don’t even know why Mitsuki doesn’t just give up on him. Is Takayuki really that worth it? He’s basically working as a waiter with no other career prospects, obsessed with another girl, no real redeeming qualities. In reality, Takayuki should probably got no one in the end, but at least he should get some credit for being obsessed with Haruka. At that point it’s her choice whether she wants to stay with him or not.
will start kiminozo soon so what routes do i do besides haruka/mitsuki/homura/akane/fumio
also are after stories crucial
>>49600331Surely I can't be the only one that likes her right
I think I'm going to drop Island. 2 routes in and there is still way too much family drama that I'm uninterested in.
>>49600336I’d like to know too. She seems to have a nice side, but basically most of her scenes in the common route are her screaming insults at Takayuki and creating slice of life banter, which I think distracts from the real plot. I don’t know if I care enough to do her route.
>>49600171If you listen to Kiminozo Drama Theater vol 2 "Hayase Mitsuki" + mitsuki chapter 3, I think you'll understand a bit more, it's because she doesn't have anyone else to rely on but takayuki... after the accident she went shock due to the strong guilt and her clubmates were spreading bad rumors, and her parents disappointed to her since she abandoned everything. So yeah she didn't care about anything else but to take care of takayuki until he's getting better. Even mitsuki's father who finally knows the truth told her that, she doesn't have any choice but to cling with him because it is what she "earned" after the sacrifices she had done and she should cherish him. it sounds kinda nasty but that's her consequences afterall.
Bruh this game would be better if âge added chapter 1.5 instead of the half-assed character's explanations in chapter 3
>>49596336the bonus episodes were pretty great
>>49598008Don't kill me but I found the wrong?forbidden?unhealthy?twisted? love between mitsuki and takayuki is so "hot" that I ship them, idk why, maybe since I was on a broken state that time... I found this anime + VN by coincidence after got a heartbreak, so Mitsuki True End gave me a strength to move on from the past. one of my favorite scenes is definitely That Hill scene where mitsuki regrets what she had done, "if only we can go back to the 3 years ago, everyone will be happy." then takayuki snapped at her, "so you're okay if we're back to the time when I only look at haruka and never realized your feelings AT ALL!?" Something like that. I LEGITLY CRIED. Ofc takayuki used to make mitsuki some kind of "escapade" until he realized her actual feelings, but it's not too late to mend their current relationship to a healthier side. That's why I also appreciate mitsuki's route afterstory.
remember that in 1998 before dating haruka, takayuki had a "crush" on mitsuki but being a coward he is, he doesn't want to ruin their friendship, so he denied his own feelings. Luckily there's an If-story where they're dating in 1998. I shouted and clapped so hard at "I... Love hayase" line after he stopped to deny his own feelings TRULY THE CHAPTER 1 I DESIRE
>>49596641Unless it have a steam version it rarely go cheapest
>>49600358ISLAND is a family drama game, essentially. There's magic and sci-fi stuff going on, but it's mostly there to set up family drama.
And then you get to the twist, which seems like it's completely changing the status quo but is actually setting up more family drama.
>>49596641Pack deals under the tag まとめ買い when DMM sells 3-5-10-20 games for 3-5-9-18 thousand yen are usually much more interesting than 500 yen sale. It's usually not the newest and most popular games too though.

https://vndb.org/v24508
can any of you share this?
it has cg galleries uploaded so presumably someone out there has it, but it isn't in any of the usual places as far as i can tell. it's been taken off dlsite, dmm, and gyutto too.
it was a longshot but i tried getting even just the trial from wayback machine and that didn't work either.

it's possible i've missed something, but i think my only hope is one of you just having the game already. i feel like i've tried everything else.
>>49604171have you tried asking the author on twitter?

>>49604247you can try it. tell her you've played all of her games and it's important to you that you play the first one as well. promise you'll delete after playing and won't share it
what's special about this writer anyway, what's her best game?
>>49604258i'm not good enough with words to express why i like her works so much. pakorare is her most infamous game though. just ignore all of the games that aren't from unit cheese or succulent. she needs to pay the bills somehow.
>>49600331>Main routes (read all of these):Mitsuki
Haruka
Akane
>Side routes (these are all shorter and deal with the main story in less sufficient ways)Ayu -- this one is funny and worth reading, I enjoyed it a lot
Mayu -- crap
Manami -- yandere ending is Misery in VN format, the good ending route is decent
Hotaru -- this isn't anything special
>OtherFumio -- this is basically a short bad ending and not a route
>also are after stories crucialThe heroines with an after story are Mitsuki, Haruka, and Akane. These are awful other than Mitsuki's. Mitsuki's is a good continuation of what would actually happen after her route, tying up some loose ends, etc. The others are retarded melodrama similar to the Sumika after story from Muv-Luv.
That being said, the game also comes with an alternate version of Chapter 1 (the high school segment) that lets you take control of that and date different girls at that point (or change what happens to Haruka). This is good and one of the high points of the VN, so make sure to read all of that.
>>49604337>That being said, the game also comes with an alternate version of Chapter 1 (the high school segment) that lets you take control of that and date different girls at that point (or change what happens to Haruka).A bit more detail, this is exactly the same as the normal chapter 1 up until you get to the new branch points. If you date Haruka it's the same up until you get "that" at which point you get a new choice to stop it, and thus a different ending. If you reject Haruka you get short routes for Mitsuki, Akane (middle school ver.), and Manami.
>>49604383>>49604337thank you a lot for writing in detail anon. will start in a few days after i'm done with otome sekai
>>49604337>Hotaru -- this isn't anything specialYou're generous. I thought that was crap too.
Regarding Akane's afterstory, wasn't it just Akane dealing with her swimming career and Takayuki? I thought it was just pretty standard work/life balance stuff and hardly anything offensive like Haruka's melodrama nonsense. But maybe I'm just totally forgetting some details, it's been a while.
>>49604576The drama in Akane's after story is that Takayuki won't let her in his room or have sex with her until he gets his job sorted out and feels like he's moved on, which he does, but he takes too long doing it or something so she thinks he doesn't want to fuck her anymore, and then getting freaked out because he called Haruka to ask her what Akane's problem is, and then she's hiding the overseas swim stuff from him, blah blah, which ultimately culminates in Mitsuki showing up and having to explain their problems to both of them and sort it out for them because they're retarded. It's fucking stupid.
>>49604612Anyway, Akane's route in the alternate chapter 1 was a lot more enjoyable, which was good since I liked Akane. That whole segment of the game was nice. I wish WA2 had something like that since it follows the same kind of structure.
>>49604612Damn. I thought the taking a while to have sex thing was the alternate chapter 1 for some reason. Thanks.
>>49604673He fucks her in her normal route, but he won't have sex with her *again* until he has all his shit sorted out in the epilogue. In her alternate chapter 1 there is a brief drama point where he isn't trying to have sex with her since she's really young there, but it gets resolved quickly.
>>49604646my favorite vn is wa2 but i don't find most heroines interesting enough to make an alternate chapter for them
>>49605390Well if IC had an alternate version like this, the routes would basically break down like
1. Date Setsuna and get the normal IC ending
2. Date Setsuna but stay with her and don't cheat on her with Kazusa
3. Reject Setsuna and end up dating Kazusa instead, and she doesn't leave for Europe
4. Possible Chiaki route since she's the only other heroine that's actually at the high school and the branch point for rejecting Setsuna would be after the school festival which is where Chiaki becomes interested in Haruki (Kiminozo gives Manami, who's a side heroine, a route in its alternate chapter 1 since she's the only extra heroine present at that point, so this would be similar to that)
I would read that without a doubt if it existed.
>>49605427but then you wouldn't be able to filter the niggers who say shit like "if the cheating is unavoidable, i won't play it" so i'm glad it is the way it is
i would play your option 4 but it has to be unlocked after chiaki's false route in cc
>>49605520Well it's all just an "if" thing, you know? The Kiminozo version of this was originally a fandisc. It doesn't add the new choices to the main game, it's a separate thing that you start up on its own.
>>49604337>Mitsuki's is a good continuation of what would actually happen after her routeI wished it was longer (need more Hayase Family scenes or wedding scene since they already had a plan) but after playing Haruka's afterstory that took ~2x of Mitsuki's afterstory length I think the shorter the better keks. I'm glad Mitsuki's afterstory doesn't have forced ahh Relationship Problem melodrama unlike the others because it would be very OOC of Mitsuki or Takayuki if one of them suddenly doubt their own feelings after the dramatic that hill scene in her route. However my real problem is one: Mitsuki's pregnancy red herring. Takayuki lamented that he never wears contraception, however in ch 2 contraception was mentioned. Apparently the writer forgot abt it. fortunately it's not the central drama of her route and it resolved quickly. Mitsuki's autumn outfit is the true perfection. I want to see more of her smile with that outfit.
>>49604247Damn I didn't realize she took her games down. I loved them too and wanted to try finding the first game but had no luck.

>>49605427An if scenario where Haruki dodges Setsuna's kiss and goes off to fuck Kazusa would be awesome.
>>49606522Isn't ctrl hardwared as forced skipped of all text in a lot of games anyway?
>>49606532There's a setting item that lets me change from skip all text to skip read text, surely they wouldn't just put that there for no reason, right?
>>49606572i think ctrl is still meant to skip all text. use the skip button on the screen
>>49606646holy shit. This worked, I didn't expect this behavior. Thank you anon. This seems dumb, why have the CTRL key do that. Is this how MOST games work?

>>49606759In most things I've played so far I either re-read large parts or it has read text colored differently...
you've just saved me SO MUCH time.
Thank you
>>49606752>>49606572There are some games where the skip setting affects ctrl behavior or there is even separate setting from time to time but in overwhelming majority of games skip setting only affects regular skip function which is called from the UI while ctrl is used as forced skip no matter what.
It could be annoying if you have some separate key bindings for ctrl but it's pretty much universal convention in the eroge industry to have ctrl as forced skip, so there is no choice but to adapt to it.
>>49606320i have all of them except this first one. i bought her 3 recent novels recently too, just in case she takes them down later. it's kind of amusing that all the ASMR that's a sequel to removed games is still up, but that was always more popular anyway so maybe it stands alone. i haven't heard them.

>>49629484Creators don't know if a sale is to a foreigner or not unless you buy translated ones on Steam.
DMM doesn't have any nationality field and isn't accessible without Japanese VPN. All physical stores require you to ship to a forwarding service in Japan.
Other digital stores are quite similar too.
>>49628883>He's like Maruto, he'll write something, but it's obvious that he's writing it for the paycheck and fan approval.i've never seen maruto do that except damekoi. also white album2 is an extensive analysis on love, it really digs deep. you see people misinterpret the triangle all the time. just because it's subtle enough that everyone can enjoy it doesn't mean it's mass appealing.
>>49629442He still has a lot of influence over the mobage's development (including art, gameplay and music/VA). And don't forget Tomoyo After. I don't think it's common for a big writer to write an after story just to give a heroine a bad end.
>>49629444Scadi, Lucle, R are a few other examples I can I think of.
>>49629605>Scadiif scaji was actually a bold creative, he would have put in a kei route.

is nukitashi worth going if i'm not enjoying the jokes? i've just entered the blue haired gal's route and it hasn't made me laugh once. for reference i enjoyed henpri for chisato and taeka's route, the former was emotional and the latter was pretty fun
i started nukitashi because i was curious about what it did in the 2nd installment but it's not landing as well as henpri.
>>49629691Scadi is already at the end of his career. He probably don't want to be too adventurous now since he is also the head of the company and has to take care of other staffs. He wrote plenty of stuff like Yomi route for Himanatsu or H20 and Nijuuei.
>maeda is a nobodyNice bait.
>>49629990doesn't scadi have one original game to do? also lol'd at spending your career remaking one game over and over again
>>49629990it isn't bait, he wasted his time in the spotlight, flopped a bunch of games and got replaced by other writers, literal nobody kept for his name

>>49629593VPNs can be easily detected, even if they allow you to but through vpn doesn't mean they don't know who you are.
>>49629695>if i'm not enjoying the jokesNo.
>>49629990people are very anti scaji here but despite the fact that he technically remade the same vn over and over again, his contribution to the medium and the variety of his catalog is pretty solid compared to other popular writers. tsui no sora -> nijuuei -> moekan/moekasu -> tousui kitan -> sakuuta -> subahibi is genuinely a great and varied run, with nijuuei remaining one of the most fascinating stories i've read by him. moekan was pretty fun too, the closest thing to scadi writing a chuunige (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTSujRYwS-0 no one asked, but here's a rare MAD of moekan/moekasu) . that said, most wouldn't know since most people (including JOP) never bother to explore his works beyond suba and sakuuta.
>>49630511i'm a changed man. i used to hate on scaji and praise setoguchi, but my opinion flipped after meeting people who had the same types of personality as setoguchi and scaji.
>nijuuei who should read this? i thought the appeal came from its studies on history and the atmosphere. are the character work/story good? or is it more of a conceptual approach like tsuire?
>>49630338Why would they care to invest effort into detecting VPNs if they are just blocking non-Japanese IPs by geolocation? And even if they do it what it will get them?
If you're trying to be that paranoid, DMM has credit card numbers which are explicitly tied to the nationality of the issuing bank. But why the hell would they bother to aggregate that data and report it to the creators when they only sells Japanese versions of games in the first place?
I very much doubt either DMM or creators care one way or another about people determined enough to obtain the Japanese version.
>>49630511>people are very anti scaji hereIsn't that just unfounded contrarianism?
I distinctly remember everyone here sucking his dick about 10 years ago.
>>49630673how do you read subahibi and sakuua and not see how hateable they are, but the anti scaji sentiment emerged as a response to woke nihilism i believe

>>49630577>who should read this?it's a good question. i'd say i would recommend nijuuei even to those who don't really like scaji after reading works like suba and sakuuta, since it is largely a standout from his catalog. to summarize very simply, it's a mystery story set in the early edo period that incorporates old japanese literature into its main narrative. it's mostly a work that shines through its historical references since you'll find numerous references to classic japanese literature, historical events, old martial arts, and so on.
it tackles philosophy, as you'd expect from scaji, but i'd say it's far more digestible and less intrusive than most of his other works, and this is conveyed by what drives the protagonist, sougen - a person who has lived through the blade since birth for nothing other than his own survival as someone who exists between the boundary.
the main narrative focuses mainly on the mysteries surrounding awahomurajima and its protagonist, the game has heroines but they're not really the focus and despite the fact that the game has "endings" for each heroine, it's mainly about the protagonist in the end. you'll wander around the island, gradually unveiling its mysteries through what i consider to be one of the best aspects of the game: its atmosphere. it's a tense story, but also very soothing. it's the kind of work that can make you feel at peace with your own mind. the short but stunning soundtrack is a great help in this regard too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfT-kVHHWVU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9JUHdUCWtc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jodwo9NTlFk
i'd say it's worth a try since the story isn't very long. the biggest problem, though, is that it's a real pain in the ass to run on PC nowadays, so good luck with that. if anyone wants to try it but can't run it on PC, i'd recommend running the dreamcast version via redream, there's voice acting compared to the PC version (if you can run the PC version, someone released a patch for the PC version a while ago).

>>49645862Luna just uses the textractor beta dll files
>>49645862Is there a version that removes all of the translation and mtl bloat?
>>49645343>best businessmen in the industryNo, just one of the first to do gacha with a popular licence
FGO would have crash and burn if it released a few years later, and in fact, it almost did at first, until he slapped his name on it even though he only wrote like 3 or 4 story chapters himself at best in almost 10 years
>>49645343HE just got lucky, just like anyone else.
>>49646044its called luna hooker
>>49646149What's the appeal of gacha anyway? I've never played it and I don't know what it's like.
>>49646044just disable all the mtl bullshit from the settings
>>49646316Bet on anything, a fight, horses, a esport tournament, and win the big prize and you will understand
>>49645862worked flawlessly, thank you, I guess I am getting old and wasnt keeping up... So long textractor, see you...
>>49646316the appeal is free phone game for normalfags. most people aren't searching for gacha for the intention of gambling, weak-willed retards just fall into the habit of gambling.
>>49646316I play a couple, the appeal to me is a neverending visual novel/Story, sure it will EOS someday but that's years worth of engagement with characters I like getting content, never spent a single buck in gambling, only bought skins
>>49646316the story same as VNs with added feelsgood RNG and more "intimacy" illusion via touchscreen
>>49598008I finished Mitsuki’s route. I felt sad that they never got to meet Haruka again. It would have been nice if they had a scene where they reunited one day with everyone. But I guess the big impact of the goodbye scene would have been diminished. Overall enjoyed the route. Looking forward to Akane and Haruka.
