Patchouli has been ny number one favorite Touhou for a long time, but in the recent year or so, Kotohime has - out of nowhere - very quickly rose through the ranks and has become one of my top 5. I have become a firm believer that Kotohime deserves more attention overall, and at least a semi-regular thread. That, and recently my phone's Micro-SD nearly got corrupted; I was able to save the vast majority of photos but now my images are all out of order when sorting by date modified. I need some Kotohime seated near the top for quick access - for tactical :D deployment when the time calls.

Normal art by human hand is preferred, but AI is also welcome.

Kotohime's great. I always loved the "everything but the kitchen sink" thing going on with her; she's a princess, she's a cop, she's a collector, she's a mad bomber, her name translates to "little rabbit princess", she's deranged, cruise me cruise me cruise me baby, etc. I also like how she put Reimu behind bars and her theme's cool too. She's just an insanely fun character all around and one of the reasons why PoDD has my favorite cast in the series alongside DDC but that's neither here nor there.

And how much of pixiv is bloated with AI now? Quite a lot. I know you can filter it, but even enabling said filter I've noticed doesn't catch everything unfortunately. Personally I don't mind AI art as long as it looks good, but I'll always prefer art made by a person. I think I'd be a bit dumb not to enjoy some of the stuff that looks really good *purely* because it's AI. It's already been made, and it isn't going anywhere, so I may as well enjoy it instead of complaining.

On a related note as the thread, does anyone have a list of fangames that feature Kotohime in any meaningful capacity or games with a CaC system where you can make her with pretty decent accuracy? Being a Kotohime lover is pain and it's extremely easy to be starved for content. The only ones I can immediately think of are Puppet Play or Puppet Dance, obviously PoDD which is difficult to find let alone play nowadays as newer computers can't run the older programs as intended, and a couple Kotohime VNs on itch.io. I've thought about trying to make her in something like Baldur's Gate but I'm not sure what class would best fit her, let alone best fitting weapon, and I'd probably be hung out to dry as far as clothes go since there aren't any mods I know of that offer something similar to what she wears.

I was going to say Artificial Dream in Arcadia since it has every Touhou as a playable character but it's a stretch to say most of them are in there in a meaningful capacity in terms of story. Still, you can recruit Kotohime to your party early on and power her up to keep her useful throughout the entire game with sacrificial fusion and skill transfers.

Yup, it's painful. And to suggest another RPG with a CaC system, consider trying an explosives build in one of the Fallout games. I'd recommend New Vegas in particular because the best light armor in the game is a police uniform that you get at the end of the (shortest) expansion and there's a lot of options when it comes to making bombs. There are also mods to add kimonos but none of them look like Kotohime's sadly.

Why do people act like it's some kind of mystery whether she is a real princess/cop or not? Haven't you read the goddamn endings? She is a police officer, or at least believes herself to be one. The PC-98 era was a different time and PoDD, despite all its story and lore, was the goofiest game of the bunch. I guess Kotohime's the perfect representation of the game in a way.

Kotohime's two outfits are complimentary
Standard has great upper body & oppai potential, works great in intimate scenarios at home, and generally is well suited for showing bare body parts, tabi at most.
Police getup is good for lower body, low angle shots, office lady-esque tropes, tights, black lingerie, and there's a different chemistry going in with her outfit having all 3 primary colors.
Mix and matching also gives pretty good results. Kotohime's just that good.

Kimonos actually visually minimize the chest tho. A lot of anime/adjacent artists draw the tits as if they're accentuated and brought out by the obi, but it's not the way it actually works. A proper traditional sexy kimono doesn't show cleavage, it shows off the neck and the back instead. Also I'd call her police setup the standard outfit personally... I mean, the kimono is a disguise after all. I do agree that both are great and sexy, she has a lot of ladylike sex appeal despite her obvious wackiness
