The Buddha is reported to have allowed women into the sangha only with great reluctance, predicting that the move would lead to Buddhism's collapse after 500 years, rather than the 1,000 years it would have enjoyed otherwise.

Women are not considered as a complete entity in Buddhism. Their body is not considered fit to attain enlightenment and become Buddha. There is a concept that women are not complete until they attain enlightenment to become reborn as a man. It is clearly stated in the Bahudhatuka-sutta that there could never be a female Buddha.

If Byakuren, Shou and other Buddhists were serious about the teachings of the Buddha they would be bald. Buddhist monks and nuns are bald because they believe their hair is excess, unclean spirit energy and shave it off to cleanse themselves and please bishamonten.
By being so cute she encourages desire, or kama, which in turn causes suffering and pushes one's mind further from nirvana.

I don't understand why she keeps her hair but refuses to eat garlic, spring onions, leeks, and other plants in the allium family because they are believed to stimulate the libido.
These strong-smelling plants according to Buddhism, are thought to increase sexual desire when eaten cooked and anger when eaten raw.
She even avoids alcohol which she admits makes it hard to talk to people.
