OKAY so I'm trying to wrap my brainlet mind around ่ชๅ่ฉ and ไปๅ่ฉ and it's actually making me want to scream because every time I think I get it some new "exception" or whatever shows up to prove I'm an idiot. My textbook says it's about intent right like if I do the thing its transitive so I use ใ like in ใใณใ้ฃในใพใ sure that's easy enough I am eating the bread no problem. BUT THEN you have shit like ใใขใ้ใ for "the door opens" versus ใใขใ้ใใ for "I open the door" and okay I guess I see that but then I'll see a sentence like ้ตใ้ใใฆใใ and it's using ใ with what looks like the -te iru form of the transitive verb so what the hell is even the point of the intransitive one if the state of being is just going to use the transitive verb anyway. It feels like the grammar is gaslighting me into thinking there's a system when really it's just a bunch of arbitrary pairs I'm supposed to just "get" through immersion which isn't working. Is there some master key for understanding when the subject's agency is implied or when an object is acting on its own or when the state of an object is the focus because right now my thought process is a tangled mess of particles and verb endings and I feel like I'm just guessing which one sounds "more correct" based on anime I've half watched. Don't even get me started on things like ่ฆใ vs ่ฆใใ or ่ใ vs ่ใใใ because that's a whole other can of worms that feels related but my brain refuses to connect the dots. I need a rule that isn't just "you'll get a feel for it" because my "feel" is broken.

Why are you learning Japanese?
>>49647172>I'll see a sentence like ้ตใ้ใใฆใใ and it's using ใ with what looks like the -te iru form of the transitive verbthis redditor sure is assuming an awful lot
>>49647231and who says im learning japanese? lol
>>49647172>>49647239้ใ is the intransitive form of ้ใใ, the transitive verb to open.
Also, ใฆใใ is used not only for continuing action but also for continuing state. Thus ้ใใฆใใ doesn't mean "is opening" but "is open".

What kind of programs do you use to aid your learning?
I am not a programmer, I just used Copilot but I made this tool so that it would assist me in "decompiling" words, to see which characters are what (because I am still learning Hiragana and Katakan let alone Kanji) and how to read them.

imagine they spend the same average amount of time on japanese every day

>>49650562they will have different skills and the expat will generally be dogshit at everything besides output. thats the only thing he will get somewhat good at if at all
for jsls investing in output is worthless when they dont have the foundational connections between vocabulary and kanji for example which is something all japanese learn in school even if they can't remember it later
hope that helps, try posting less idiot shit next time
>>49650588i think you are basing your opinion on expats who dont have a passion for the language

>>49650593i am basing it on everyone who focuses on output. as a jsl you need to reach double the level of proficiency needed for n1 in reading and listening and develop at least a japanese middle schooler level writing ability first or you are wasting your time on output
>>49650608is that why you cant post vocaroos

>>49650621they literally don't know english otherwise they wouldn't sound like shit. they usually even make grammar mistakes in speaking they wouldn't make in writing because they're slow and have to think about the language manually which they don't have the time for in real-time interactions

>>49649071just a tip: don't use romaji ever. get into the habit of only using kana

So I'm trying to understand the difference between ใฎใซ and ใใใซ and I THOUGHT I had it figured out where ใฎใซ is like "even though" and ใใใซ is more accusatory but then I was watching this anime and this girl said "ใ้ใใชใใใใซ้ซใๆใฐใใ่ฒทใฃใฆ" about her boyfriend which makes sense because she's criticizing him BUT then in the very next episode she said "ใ้ใใชใใฎใซ้ซใๆใฐใใ่ฒทใฃใฆ" about THE SAME GUY doing the SAME THING and I rewatched it like 10 times to see if maybe her tone was different or if she was less angry but she seemed equally annoyed both times so now I'm wondering if maybe ใใใซ can only be used when you're talking directly TO the person or ABOUT them when they're present but that doesn't make sense either because I've seen it used about people who aren't there and my teacher said ใใใซ is "stronger" but what does that even MEAN when both sentences seem to express the same level of frustration and I tried asking on HelloTalk but everyone just said "ใใใซ is ruder" which doesn't help because they were both pretty rude contexts and now I'm second guessing every single ใฎใซ vs ใใใซ choice I've ever made in conversation and probably sounding like a weirdo.

>>49654995i went and did like 400 cards from the dojg deck, cloze style, and gave up. Should I retry?
I feel like I need to review my basic grammar becasue I keep failing gn2 in the moe way with less than 3 points each attempt
>>49655114Yeah but the point he's making and im too is that if Core 6k are still frequency vocab then mining these on your own it's just reinventing the wheel, isn't it?
>>49655322matt said people who fail keep failing so dont bother
>>49655341matt changed his ways. he's cool now
yea he started lying about facts
>>49655338thats a fair point but it does make the cards more memorable if they are from your own input imho
you could also argue that since everything in core6k is so common you dont even need to do cards for it at all because any input will be spaced repetition

The word for heredity/heritage means "world attack".
Kind of strange. Intriguing.
>>49655632i know it and can read it so its n5 sry
>>49655632remove 3 of the frequency dictionaries and switch to a light theme

>>49655388One thing I'm wondering is that if I'm doing the Kaishi 1.5k now and then plan to do the 2k/6k there's probably a ton repeated cards, I guess you can probably merge decks or suspend the ones in the 2k/6k, will have to check out later
Ideally I would merge them though, even my mining deck
>>49655633That's not the point, though.
But this is the first time I see the word.

>>49655636>remove 3 of the frequency dictionariesWhich ones?
>switch to a light themeNo. Why would I do that?
>>49655632The kanji ่ฅฒ also has meanings of inherit or renew, or follow after
The original meaning of the character had to do with putting a new layer of clothes on over another one, which is why it has the ่กฃ radical

"if you ask for ideas means you have none of your own" is at least correct

My first thought when reading ๅฏ่พผใฟ was either "sound asleep" or "bedridden" or "shut into the bed" (as in, under lots of thick bedsheets, etc.). Why would you interpret it as "to turn over / toss and turn"?
