That's one cute MGR. In any case, about your question, I guess it could retain some of /jp/'s spirit if it had some qualities reminiscent of this board, or if it made references to it. Maybe there's a character browsing the board, or some /jp/ well known meme appears, maybe there's someone obsessed with yuri... even something out of the esoteric bread could be fun to include.

I don't really want to admit it, but looking at sites like Nico Nico, Cookie is in decline. New voice dramas rarely get even 10,000 views. This is partly due to the overall decline of Nico Nico, but people are simply getting tired of Cookie, and the notoriety has been so bad that it has become so widespread, with many voice actors being infringed upon and suffering reputational damage, and even resulting in suicides, so while many people are leaving, not many are getting close.
However, because it's difficult to convey that kind of gloomy atmosphere through illustrations, there is still a little bit of vitality to the site.

Years ago, cookie threads would've been shunned and posters told to leave /jp/. I'm glad this isn't the case anymore despite the history behind cookie. It's a pretty notable and intregal part of fringe otaku culture despite being designed to mock it in a sense.

but if we go that route then it's pretty much guaranteed that the end product will be something nobody cares about

MGR, NYN and Yaju Senpai were talking together one day. MGR said:
