I don't even care about AI per se, I just find dumb how he made an entire game and a bunch of written work as a commentary for it only to use it himself
And people who are coping by saying he's proving a point are even dumber

He removed the post and his account, as well as github due to it not being popular enough and getting some negative feedback on Moriya Shrine.

I thought this article would be preachy, but it seems to be pretty fair criticism

I thought the post could have used some improvement and am kind of disappointed the poster and Spaztron never tried made that letter to ZUN, even if the letter to ZUN was a stupid idea and making a letter to BeatMario is probably a better one.
The post is flawed, it contains a lot of tangential stuff and stuff that is nothingburgers like the LoLK images, but just because its flawed and recived fairly mild criticism doesn't mean they should have removed it.
If anything making another improved sequel post and proposing a course of action would have made me respect them, but as is they just come across as a bitch.

Yeah. Had a guy I use to talk to about touhou. I could not say anything bad about touhou or zun, because I'd get the "Just make fanfiction broooooo!!! Stop complaining!".

I think the only /jpsie/ that did was was Impaler, who promptly left the THP and proceede to troll some friends with a friend of him he roleplayed with.
If a person has a problem with Touhou they're more likely to just not deal with it anymore. I don't think Impaler has even updated his fanfiction in a while.

The main issue is he does a lot of begging the question and opinion sharing. I get it was a blog post for his own personal desire to write it for himself to share but he probably maybe didn't expect it to blow up. Had it been coming from a much more neutral stance detailing the violations and hyposcrisy and having a call to action, I think it would've had a much better chance of standing the winds of the internet and fanbase. He is a bitch for not leaving it up and issuing a followup post. But technically speaking, there's a lot of stuff he pieced together from discussions online people pointed out, here and elsewhere when the controversy first hit, anyone could've probably made an article like the one he collated if they took the time.
>>49684833
That's what I did. There's no point in asking for the fandom to do better, some people are plain blind in light of what they love, and I am unlikely to be making any poignant points others haven't already made. If ZUN isn't going to care about his games and legacy to the extent he will go back and fix stuff or release it, then why should I take the effort to make the point online and do that work for him? Taking your ball and leaving in a fandom is the only way to go, any other way even burning bridges is way too much effort emotionally for what you would be abandoning.

No he did. Spaztron explained that was why he took it down on the bbs blog which got flooded by oppositeWinner's schizo posting. In the Moriya Shrine thread they even talk about trying to take some action, which neither of them got around to.
I even searched popular Touhou discord servers for Spaz's posts, and he asked about the LoLK images and translating that book he bought. Only to then get the same type response.
>Not a legal expert, but I TL
>Seems to says stuff like "you can use the images under this term with these example cases but I reserve the the right to define what can/cannot on the fly if I found your use inappropriate"
>But since no case ever developed they probably didn't have one or they and ZUN settled it in private.

Okay, yeah, then he is a little bitch for hoping it would reach critical mass and didn't critically structure the article more in a neutral way for his cause, his impure intentions fucked any actionable thing that could've been done to get clarification or changes. Instead, he poisoned the well now.
I don't think it's necessarily wrong to point out the things mentioned and that for the LOLK pictures, things don't look clear and could be infringing especially with what it says on the page but a lot of the writing was done writing backwards from the conclusion.

Would ZUN or Ruw even bother to read some sort of community letter or address some sort of coordinated X/Twitter hashtag push or do anything about it especially if there are little to no consequences from ignoring it? I don't think this is enough to turn the entire fanbase bitter so even the end goal if there is one is of dubious effect.

I think something could happen, afterall ZUN made TH20 harder on an offhand suggestion from beatmario.
I think it's just a matter of how to approach the issue with him properly and the issue Flame Sniper really had was the ai use, not the copyright stuff.
But even that ends up lost in the blog post, which is part of the problem.

I don't think the AI usage is being rolled back for ZUN and even if it did, it doesn't solve more fundamental issues with the games for a while now and the AI usage irregardless isn't helping. And outside of that, there are still longstanding issues mentioned in the blog around the fanworks guidelines and etc. that have been somewhat touchy subjects and not addressing those concerned when mentioned is not feasible to do for ZUN and that is where he most likely won't change because it's his prerogative ultimately and the law favors ZUN despite his past transgressions and hypocrisy which if ever addressed would be in a separate thing unto itself. And the law doesn't care if the work infringed upon was infringing itself in some way.

Pretty funny that the whole AI thing was made out to be this doomsday topic that would get (forcibly) brought up by the same people time and time again and now nobody gives a fuck about it anymore, as they should.
