I didn't know how poorly advertised the final D4FES Live was. That live selling as poorly as it did relative to the talent present was probably the last nail in the coffin from Bushi's POV, although the tone of the article makes it sound like they only really put it on out of obligation/a parting gift. Low turnout also probably explains why donuts is hesitant to bother with shows for the units with more expensive talent (Aimi, may'n, etc.).
The bit about line recordings by VAs once-a-month probably also explains why the gacha is now starting to get no-story events + leaning more heavily on the units with less popular (read: less expensive) seiyuu. It was probably a lot easier with Bushi since they owned a good chunk of the cast through hibiki.
