Being able to cast at -2000000 mana is better than losing a waist slot for less speed than an ether disease. You even get a speed loss while mounted if you equip a waist, and I think it's a multiplicative loss so you go lower than other races. Wasn't expecting to get gear AND speed though, total fox victory.

There's an index.txt with your nickname in it, this might change all references of it I'm not sure, I tried changing my nickname once but decided to go back and reverted it. There's another reference to your nickname in game.txt, dunno if you need to change it or not.

Stuff like names are just plain text in your character's save file. Go to your save folder like >>49756400 said, open game.txt, CTRL+F your nickname, and edit it. You don't need to edit the Index.txt (it's just the info you see in the "continue/load-save" menu), it will be updated automatically after you load and save your edited save file.
