Historic defeat for LDP; LDP and Komeito expected to lose majority; DPP and Sanseito make great strides [2025 House of Councillors Election]

Sanseito originally a fringe conservative opposition group has taken far more seats then expected, he is aiming for a more conservative media, anime is one of the targets. Expect less ecchi, less yuri, less yaoi, less loli, less shota , less everything that isn't pg for future production.

https://newsdig.tbs.co.jp/articles/-/2057761

Japan appears to be looking inward by placing all the countries blame on immigrants/tourists even though they make up 1% of the 99% Japanese population, the motto for this historic win was "Japanese people first". The proposed deportation of immigrants and much stricter healthcare system is expected to take effect by the end of 2025 with this vote.

The LDP trotted out old male fossils for the most part while the Sanseito often ran women running populist rhetoric against gaijin. This new blood that the country wants is much more hostile to foreigners and foreign media influence; whether this is good for the future of Japan or not remains to be seen.

Censorship bad, illiberal policies against native population bad. Maintaining cultural cohesion and homogeneous population, and decreasing population, good.

sounds pretty good for the time being as the party will explicitly focus on strengthening their culture's integrity and harden it's stance on migrants. your favorite loli shota yuri and yaoi anime we're at risk with a rising immigrant population anyway, so although the censorship is bad, it was an inevitability. hopefully the censorship hammer isn't as heavy as we immagine and they focus on stabalizing their population.

Both of you are correct however you are not mentioning the other 125 seats that were not up for election which is the entire reason for losing the majority.

▼LDP 33 ▼Komeito 8 ▼CDP 26 ▼Ishin 7 ▼Japanese Communist Party 3 ▼DPP 17 ▼Reiwa Shinsengumi 3 ▼Sinseito 16 ▼SDP 1 ▼Japan Conservative Party 2 ▼Others 9

When included, the LDP-Komeito coalition in total only narrowly misses out on a majority, and they could theoretically negotiate some sort of informal confidence and supply agreement with parties it thinks it can reason with, such as the DPFP and Ishin, like they did with the more powerful Lower House.

>historic defeat
ehh in japan terms that means LDP don't have a supermajority, it'll bounce back next election cycle

either way i wish the conservative party luck, being anti immigration when the population is declining so quickly is stupid and self defeating. the japanese economy is probably never going to stop stagnating though so i guess nationalists are going to do a nationalism even if it's to their detrement. the only people who seem to participate politically are ancient fossils or LDP establishment types anyway so radical change seems unlikely either way

i doubt they're going to clamp down on tourism and media since it's a huge sector of the economy

The fossils running Japan already destroyed Japanese culture themselves by being good puppets for westerners, allowing them to hollow out the country for decades while giving nothing to the greater population in return.

Increasing populations and inviting immigration is only good for kicking the can that is the broken system down the road. The current Japanese population should be perfectly capable of boosting the economy, at least it could if it didn't have lead weights like state pensions, welfare, healthcare tied around it's neck, but the government obviously has failed to create the environment to do it. When you have massive state expenditure importing more people is only going to give you more of the same, you get more tax (if they aren't totally worthless) and spend more and continue to stagnate. You literally cannot win with globalization.

No society losing nearly a million people a year can do that unless they're in the billions, which Japan isn't.

Its better if japan just keeps losing people as long as they remain a vast japanese majority. Eventually the population will go back up to normal without having to import disgusting third worlders to shit on my beloved animes and games

Do you want all your anime and manga to be made by jeets using AI? Do you want to find africans eating cats in the japanese countryside? What is wrong with you?

Pointing out the fact that the population is not going to rebound and that the economy will go down the shitter is not the same as saying they need to bring in millions of jeets, africans or waito piggu on "student" visas, retard. It's just stating the trajectory Japan has been on for decades that have only shown signs of getting worse.

NTA, but your perception of immigration is ruined by modern policies. It's not a binary choice of either just letting everyone in or being an isolationist shithole. Japan is an island country, they can easily implement something like White Australia act and just allow anyone who can work and speaks the language.

>LETS HAVE OPEN BORDERS AND WELCOME IMMIGRATION
People have no idea of the shitstorm that is coming for humanity with global environment collapse. The correct thing to do is refocus to be more sustainable with current population sizes, or preferably lower populations.
