Historic defeat for LDP; LDP and Komeito expected to lose majority; DPP and Sanseito make great strides [2025 House of Councillors Election]
Sanseito originally a fringe conservative opposition group has taken far more seats then expected, he is aiming for a more conservative media, anime is one of the targets. Expect less ecchi, less yuri, less yaoi, less loli, less shota , less everything that isn't pg for future production.

Japan appears to be looking inward by placing all the countries blame on immigrants/tourists even though they make up 1% of the 99% Japanese population, the motto for this historic win was "Japanese people first". The proposed deportation of immigrants and much stricter healthcare system is expected to take effect by the end of 2025 with this vote.
The LDP trotted out old male fossils for the most part while the Sanseito often ran women running populist rhetoric against gaijin. This new blood that the country wants is much more hostile to foreigners and foreign media influence; whether this is good for the future of Japan or not remains to be seen.
