Milgram
Fuuta's final trial music video was released over a week ago and I haven't seen a thread yet.

He doxxed an innocent middle school girl, as expected.

No one? Reminder that there's important information in the interrogation voice dramas.

How about Muu and Kotoko's punishment being so erotic? The girls look so lovely being tortured in these creative restraints specially designed for them and forced to be barefoot and on their toes. It's all so sexy and humiliating.

A footfag who would be turned on if you gave him the rope is truly a terrible creature

Hey, nothing quite shows how vulnerable, helpless, and humiliated a girl is like making her barefoot.

I just don't think there's many anons here who watch or care about Milgram. It's too... Zoomery? Twittery? Something like that.

Vtubers are popular here so that's not it. Milgram is an ARG by DECO*27, a classic vocaloid song producer from the golden age. There are just some things that don't gain any traction here. Nobody here cares about Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai from Honeyworks despite how big it is in Japan.

For the most part, the only people I see discussing it are obnoxious teenagers, which is pretty off-putting, But, as for Milgram itself, I think I find it mostly "okay". The music is not bad, but none of what I've heard really stands out to me, either.
As for the story, I did find that interesting early on, but I found their recent decision to start killing off characters pretty disappointing, particularly since several of those weren't really predictable from the votes. I'd probably enjoy it more if it was a game where you could go back and retry choices and see what the new routes are (though that would be pretty difficult to pull off, since there could be more than a thousand different vote combinations – unless you started off with a smaller cast), but as it stands, it just feels like a "you made the WRONG CHOICE" kind of shock value, and it makes me less interested to keep paying attention to Milgram when a bunch of characters' arcs just got cut off partway through.

Also, I just realised I mathed wrong, there could actually be more than a billion combinations, 2^(number of characters * number of rounds). You could reduce it by having the votes for different characters not affect each other – then you'd have (number of characters) * 2^(number of rounds), which is just 80 in this case – but, as the recent violence made clear, the votes for one character *can* affect the fates of others quite significantly.

Oh, and something else I disliked was how Kazui and Yuno's storylines (and, to a lesser degree, Shidou's) feel like pandering to a certain crowd. To some degree that is just woke zoomers in the "fandom" interpreting those stories according to their own worldviews, but I still find it off-putting, particularly since by design the fans and their views play a big role in how the story plays out.

You made the mistake of coming here, posting a not well known image, and going "discuss" as if everyone knows what the fuck you're talking about. Vtubers and idolfags make the same mistake too. If you want a discussion you have to be proactive in starting one and also proactive in explaining your stuff so you can try to get people into it.

>particularly since several of those weren't really predictable from the votes
They were all telegraphed. Haruka literally told us that he will commit suicide if Muu gets voted guilty. She got voted guilty and he made good on his word. Amane made it clear she had problems with Shidou. She was voted innocent and therefore allowed to operate unrestrained, so she killed Shidou as predicted. Shidou told us that Mahiru is too injured to survive without regular care from him. Once he died, that was it for her. The only thing that was surprising was how badly the voters fucked while being completely unaware.
I don't think there was a "right" choice for everything to go smoothly. I think no matter what the votes are, something will go awry for the sake of the story, even if it might not be as bad as the current state. For trial 2, there was no chance Muu wouldn't get voted guilty (same for Kotoko) so Haruka's death was inevitable. But Amane's verdict was right on the border. It's interesting to speculate what could've been if she was voted guilty. Then she gets put in bondage like the other two guilty girls, and Shidou and Mahiru survive.

I don't think those storylines are pandering at all. Those are pretty universal topics. I am surprised by how hard they leaned into Yuno doing nothing wrong. She didn't even get an abortion. It was a miscarriage. What the fuck is she even doing here? You are right about the fanbase though, at least on the western side. Yuno is an 18-year-old girl engaging in compensated dating and their reaction is basically "yas slay queen" ignoring that something is seriously wrong that she's making such self-destructive decisions. If she was just a year younger, they would be hypocritically treating her like a hapless victim being manipulated by "pedos". But since she's an "adult" whoring herself out is "empowering". It's like they were celebrating her getting fucked by older men for money then nonchalantly getting abortions whenever she got pregnant. Genuinely disturbing.

Indeed, and a lot of those fans also treat Kazui as this sweetheart who could do no wrong, even though he killed his wife – just because it is implied that he is actually gay. I guess it's not strictly pandering, but a lot of those Western fans do let their preconceived notions about people like Kazui and Yuno affect their votes. Even Shidou being voted innocent twice, even though he himself ultimately said that what he did was heinous, was a bit like that – they voted for him to be innocent because they found him attractive and his crimes to be "noble".
That's more directly the fault of the fans than the story itself, but the structure of Milgram is such that the writers do try to manipulate the audience by showing them only one aspect of a character's story at a time.

Wait what? I'm pretty sure Kazui was just a cheater and his wife killed herself.

Hmm, yes, you may be right – that would still be considered as "causing her death" by the Milgram system, like with Mahiru's partner.

Well it's not just that he's attractive. His crimes seem to be "merely" unethical and with good intentions (and there's also the implication of his sympathetic motivations relating to his wife/family). He's also the one who shows the most remorse and development and is genuinely trying to atone. Plus, he needed to be voted innocent in trial 2 so he can take care of Mahiru to keep her alive (but what good does that do when he gets killed anyway). Remember that the innocent/guilty verdict isn't just judging the prisoners' crimes but whether you think they should be forgiven or not.

Not really. Just watch all the videos on the youtube channel. It won't take long. There's also the interrogation voice dramas if you want more details on the plot and characters. There are fan translations on youtube. If you want to go even deeper, there are various other materials that fans have translated. I think most of them are on the wiki.
