Algeria buys the Su-57
Haven't really seen anyone bringing this up so just wanted to put it out there. Normally I wouldn't expect anything to actually come of this, but apparently they promised 8 planes by end of year. So presumedly Russia actually plans to deliver in short order and not just endlessly kick the can down the road. Of course, nothing is set in stone but the rather soon deadline makes me think this won't be the usual. We'll see soon enough.
Assuming it actually goes forward this would be a really interesting development for a few reasons. First, if Russia actually provides the goods and has a satisfied customer that would suddenly make the Felon a lot more attractive prospect for other nations, especially considering the blackeye Dassault took recently. Secondly, Algeria's only real rival is Morocco who is I think the oldest ally of the USA. If some sort of conflict were to ever kick off between them, the chances that the burgers would get some pretty good intel would be almost certain.
Disclaimer I shouldn't need to make and I fucking hate you that I have to: I'm not Chinese, I'm not Russian, I'm not Indian, I'm not Pakistan. There isn't some hidden motive to the thread. I just actually wanted to discuss arms sales and how that might shape a possible WW3. Fuck you faggots.

Algeria ordered the SU57 something like 4 or 5 years ago, it is the intended replacement for their MiG25 jets.
>Su57 on life support
It was never on life support, this is a high priority program. Anyone saying otherwise is retarded, starting with the author of the linked article.
The reason the Algerian contract are going into the production phase now after 4 (?) years is because the initial production run with interim engines is done or almost done. The Su57M model is what the design specifications actually called for, the ~12 prototypes and ~14-20 serial aircraft delivered so far are the pre production versions, sortof. It's hard to say how many of what was made because some of the prototypes were pulled apart, put back together in the standard configuration and delivered for service. Once the new model is ready they will start switching some of the Su35 production lines to the Su57, along with the new facility that went online recently.
The Russians are supposed to acquire 78 (which includes the interim models) for their own air force before considering further orders, Algeria ordered years ago (12 or 24 units I think) and then there's the whole story with India which is fucking retarded. The Indians pulled out of the program which caused funding issues that delayed the whole thing by a year or two (potentially, maybe those retards would cause delays just by being there even though they're handing over the cash) and they decided to instead focus on their own stealth jet. Except they're fucking retarded and their stealth jet is like 10-15 years away and they are rapidly coming to the realization that they have no choice but to come crawling back to Russia and buy those planes anyway.
And there's a handful of places that might get them too like Vietnam, but that could go either way. And Belarus has the issue where they want them but it's a small country and these things are expensive so they don't know what they're going to do yet.

Belarus and Russia are part of something called the unitary state. I'm not quite sure as to how that works, but from what I understand Belarus buying from China makes about as much sense as Russia buying from China. Belarus doesn't differentiate much between Russian production and domestic production because they're integrated on a military level.
So no. That said, the J10 would fit their requirements better than the Su57. Modern Russian jets favor long range because Russia has a lot of ground to cover, while Belarus doesn't actually care about having such long range because it is a compact land locked country. They'd be fine with MiG35s, but that program actually is on life support and has been for something like a decade.
Anonymous No.63748299 [Report] >>63751564
>>63748279
It's the same method as the Su30. Every country gets their own customized export model. So you'll have Su57 and Su57M for Russia, Su57A for Algeria, Su57I for India etc.
>trapped
In what way?
>analyzed
The Russians don't care, they are already planning on selling to India which will sell any relevant information to Israel under the table.

It was on life support since it's inception, this is a low priority program that took more than 20 years for some useless prototypes. Anyone saying otherwise is retarded, starting with the author of the linked post.
The reason the Algerian contract are going into the production phase now after 10 (?) years is because the initial production run with interim engines is not done or almost not started. The Su57M model is not what the design specifications actually called for, the ~12 prototypes and ~3-4 serial aircraft delivered so far are the pre production versions, sortof. It's hard to say how many of what was made because some of the prototypes were pulled apart, put back together in the standard configuration and delivered for service(Probably the ones that crashed too). Once the new model is ready (so never) they will start switching some of the Su35 production lines to the Su57, along with the "new" facility that went online recently, if it doesn't go up in flames the next few months.
The Russians are supposed to acquire 78 (which includes the interim models) for their own air force before considering further orders. So they will never produce export models. Algeria ordered years ago (12 or 24 units I think) and then there's the whole story with India which is fucking retarded. The Indians pulled out of the program after they figured out they wasted billions on a scam, which caused funding issues that delayed the whole thing by a decade or two (potentially, maybe the russian retards would cause delays just by being there even though they're being handed over cash for their worthless mic). Except the russians are fucking scummy morons and their stealth jet is like 10-15 years away and they are rapidly coming to the realization that they have no choice but to pretend their retard plane is a 5th gen when it's 4th gen at best.

I don't think you're well versed on this subject at all.
1/ Belarus already buys rocket and missile systems from China and produces them under license (see Polonez and Polonez-M). Buying jets would make sense if they can't get adequate jets from Russia.

2/ In the immediate years before 2020, and even during much of that year, Belarus and Russia weren't on good terms at all. Belarus even accused Russia of meddling in their elections leading up to it. It's only after the elections when the West turned on Belarus that Lukashenko ran towards Putin's embrace.

>1/ Belarus already buys rocket and missile systems from China and produces them under license (see Polonez and Polonez-M). Buying jets would make sense if they can't get adequate jets from Russia.
And both Russia and Belarus and Ukraine buy drones from China. You have no idea what a difference it is from rockets to Jets.
Furthermore, I will remind you that Belarus also has systems that it developed in cooperation with Ukraine, where the political distance is even more obvious. And further emphasizes how that was then and this is now.

>2/ In the immediate years before 2020, and even during much of that year, Belarus and Russia weren't on good terms at all.
I know exactly what you are talking about and it's entirely irrelevant. Belarus has for a long time tried to play the game of quasi neutrality, using the threat of foreign cooperation to get money and favors from its local hegemon, which is exactly what every minor nation does, most infamously Turkey. That policy was since discarded. In Belarus, I mean, Turks are still being roaches about it.
>It's only after the elections when the West turned on Belarus that Lukashenko ran towards Putin's embrace.
That's a particularly queer way to put it, but not entirely incorrect.
Again, unitary state. The divide between Russia and Belarus was always blown way out of proportion, much as it is done with Russia and China now, but now their military is integrated to the point where Russia is holding nukes in Belarus. There is no situation in which Belarus buys Jets outside of Russia. There is a situation in which Belarus gives up on jets entirely and buys Chinese drones instead, for example, but not jets. That's not actually going to happen either, they'll get their planes from Russia eventually.

There is nothing quiet about the Algerian modernization program, they've put more of their budget into the military in response to the destruction of Lybia, which was like a decade ago.
Algeria is probably the best army in Africa and certainly the best air force in Africa. The only contender being Egypt and they're crippled by being next to Israel so the west is both unwilling to sell them any of the good stuff and they are under constant threat of sanctions if they buy Russian. This might change when they get new planes from China.

From all reporting I have seen (and I looked at a bunch before making the thread) this seems to be a full legitimate sale and has gone further in the process than any others pervious.
We know Russia hasn't been using them much in the war and thus (likely) not seeing much attrition with them. We also know they have been "mass" producing them this entire time. Given their need for money it seems entirely plausible they might actually hand over a few to someone like Algeria.

Egypt's military will fold in any real war. The regime basically exists to suppress the Egyptian population, isolate Gaza, and protect Israel. That's why the 2011 democratic revolution was undone and the junta came back following the 2013 coup. At least Iraqi and Syrian soldiers had reason to fight, but Egyptian soldiers don't even have that.

>>63752023
You're deluded and out of the loop on so many levels. Russian bases are still in Syria's coast, and Israel won't be abandoning Russia because of the economic and demographic ties, and because Israel doesn't want Russia getting closer to Iran than they already have the past few years.

Israel doesn't make Patriots, nor are they offensive weapons. They're purely defensive, and the US asked for them back to send to Ukraine.

For the new MRCA procurement plan, Malaysia may get SU-57 fighter jets from Russia and KF-21 from South Korea or even KAAN from Turkey because they have already offered it to Malaysia. Russia has already offered the SU57 package along with the S400 to Malaysia. The US gives too many conditions and no freedom to repair or upgrade the aircraft made in the United States. Most recently, Malaysia has held discussions with the Russian authorities to obtain the Mig-35 as well as the 5th generation Sukhoi Su-57 aircraft because Russia guarantees technology exchange and aircraft upgrades in the future.

An internal source to the famous Malaysian defense website, Malaysia Defense stated that there are discussions at the Malaysian Ministry of Defense level to accelerate the RMAF MRCA Multi-Role Combat Aircraft Program from the original in 2035 to 2040 to in the 13th Malaysia Plan RMK-13 from 2026-2030. This is so that Malaysia has a replacement for fighter jets after the Sukhoi SU-30 MKM and F-18 Hornet will be retired starting from 2035 to 2040. If the purchase process starts in RMK-13 then Malaysia will get the fighter jets no later than 2031-2035 or the 14th Malaysia Plan RMK-14

The RMAF MRCA program has actually been delayed for a long time with Malaysia wanting to buy new twin-engine fighter aircraft, namely the Dassault Rafale, Eurofighter Typhoon and Super Hornet.

After being delayed. The RMAF changed this program to purchase Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft to ensure Malaysia's air combat formation continues to move forward. 18 aircraft will be purchased in the MRCA Program with candidates focused on the US-made F-35, Russian-made Sukhoi SU-57, South Korean-made KF-21 Boramae, Chinese-made Shenyang J-35 and Turkish-made KAAN
Anonymous No.63762794 [Report] >>63809630
>>63762790
The biggest problem facing RMAF right now is the insufficient number of fighter aircraft in service. With only 8 F/A 18D, 18 Su 30MKM and 16 BAE Hawk, despite Malaysia having a large airspace. Malaysian main weakness is to fifth generation aircraft as Su-30MKM is superior to F-18F/F-15EX >>63762514

Eventhough the US bribing Malaysia not to join BRICS with sale of F-35, it wont be easy for them if the US Congress keep trying to meddle in and trying to approve it only with terms. Although both countries are friends, Malaysia is not that close with US, unlike Singapore , which the US gave much favour too. Also, Putrajaya (Malaysia) did not recognized Israel and dont have any Diplomatic relationship with Tel Aviv. Unlike Singapore which is the strongest supporters of Israel's war against the Palestinian people. So, you can do the math why Malaysian prefer to get 2nd hand F-18 from Kuwait as a temporary "stop-gap measure" only, as a temporary filling in the procurement of fifth or sixth generation fighter jets that will begin in the 14th Malaysia Plan (RM14 & RM15) 2030-2040. of course, it's dangerous if the weaponry leans more towards the west, especially America, the strangest policy is, the fighter jets have been purchased but their use requires permission from them. For F-18 Malaysia, the Malaysian technician was not given the source code for the settings when there was a mission, they had to report to America first. And again, Turkiye, just because they bought defense equipment from Russia was kicked out of the F-35 program, remember that before Indonesia was embargoed, the Air Force was paralyzed.

So, since Algeria is Russia's puppet, will they order them to chimp out like the order Hamas 2 years ago, to go against Morocco or make them try to grab a bit of Libya, since land is free grab these days. Gotta use your tools at hands to destabilize the world and by proxy, the west.

I'm pretty confident that we are still at 20 serial units in service because they are right now putting in the new engines, so the batch is taking longer than normal. And they didn't want to go all ahead with production until the new engines are ready.
Once that's done, the numbers will shoot up quickly but that's for late this or early next year.

In the year 2023 they delivered to their own air force at least 8 Su57 jets and 10 Su35 jets, along with Su34 bomber, some Su30 for the navy and a few trainers.
That's what I had on hand because I did the numbers last year, I can't be fucked going over it for 2024 again. That's the Russian air force and navy, then there are also export deliveries that I can't be fucked timing, I think Myanmar got their planes sometimes in the last year or two as well.
And some were delivered to Iran, but I think those were trainers and reworked export Su35s originally built for Egypt.
