>China offered 40 x J-35 stealth jets, KJ-500 AWACS, HQ-19 defense systems to Pakistan, and deferred $3.7B in debt.

What really matters is uzbekistan, the dominant regional superpower in its nation. How is it going to get and maintain jf-17 or j-10c when its current fleet of soviet era mig-29 and su-27 (not even with any post soviet upgrades) are poorly maintained and they probably have like 2 flying because all uzbeks are lazy niggers

Is the F-35 like a real entry level bicycle, like a standard size and speed hybrid or road bike. Meant to be used for years but also meant to be upgraded. meanwhile the J-35 is a walmart bike or bicycle shaped object that costs half to a third as much and is made of potmetal and is made to be used and thrown away within 6 months?

If India tried that again on a larger scale, they'll just be humiliated even more because they've managed to lose every aerial war the past several years. Not to mention, Pakistan would have to actually retaliate by hitting Indian targets.

In reality Lockheed Martin developed specialized autoclaves to bake in advanced RAM. China could not duplicate or acquire this technology so, as usual, we’re forced to cope with something inferior. In fact just about EVERYTHING in China’s advanced aerospace industry is this story. Yes there is a downside to Lockheed’s advanced RAM in that maintaining it requires exotic concoctions which are expensive — but that’s why the U.S. is the only country on the planet which makes stealth planes. China is ridiculously behind because the technology is so rare and completely under the control of one country they can’t acquire it. Cope for the rest of time.

Flat vs curved isn’t a style choice, it’s advanced manufacturing capability vs simple manufacturing capability. I’m sure you know why we NEVER see high-resolution closeup shots — because it would make that difference painfully obvious.

You only get stealth by combining advanced shapes, advanced RAM and super tight tolerances. If you’re missing one of these you get low-observable at best. These planes don’t have curves because China CAN’T MAKE THEM.

F-35 needed those curves simply because they fucked up with the single engine+VTOL requirements.

The F-35 is less stealthy than the F-22, and the F-22 doesnt have those "curves" aka failures of design.

They just rent out a space from Pakistan in return. This gives China a shore from China -> Pakistan -> Ocean from NW corridor. If China develops the route properly, they could have a huge economic zone right there as well as a military installation/station. Same with China/Sri Lanka. China/Myanmar. India is getting surrounded by China.

He's right, the original design of the F-35 was a flat bottom. They realized they couldn't fit everything and had to compromise. The protrusions they couldn't remove had to be solved by an early 2000s computer simulation at the last minute of the project.

It’s more accurate to say profit from all trade, economic activity, and port visits belong to the Chinese. Not 100%, but a typical deal for something like that is around 90% to the Chinese and 10% to the host country’s port authority.
Additionally, the Chinese are pretty good about creating a self contained economy for themselves. Whichever company is in charge of running the port will typically create housing for their workers and Chinese run businesses catering to typical everyday life is set up by them. The idea that the host country can create a realistic profit that will pay off the loan with their new port IS the debt trap: you’re making dimes on the dollar and can’t even get some money from the workers because it’s an ethnic centered economy.
On the plus side you can find a Chinese shop and food stall almost anywhere they have a belt and road initiative.

This is true. If Ships dock at China zone in Pakistan and they build a railroad to transport goods from China directly to Pakistan, they would skip out on other places. The bigger this zone is built out, the more China has leverage against other nations in South/East Asian ports.

Debt deferral requires both sides of the loan to agree. More likely, they're essentially giving Pakistan the leeway on this because the pakis are investing the money they gain form deferred debt and interest right back into buying weapons from China, so the "lost" money is actually flowing right into their arms industry.

Daily reminder that China has been innovating more new technologies than the US for the last decade. Cope harder about the chinks improving on your stealth technology.

For all of China's tech advancement, you could still see its limitations in others

KJ-500 for example, despite being touted as having 3 powerful GaN AESA radar, is literally carried by a glorified An-12 because china didn't trust their C919 as a platform of which to carry the large radar dish

The C919 uses western engines, china won't use those for a fucking AWACS.
The WS-20 is now available, that will power future AWACS plattforms.

I don't trust China to bolster a good long-term relationship with any nation. Short-term gains and influence, which become tension once they try to enhance their influence/price. Only a matter of time until one of those client states says "Fuck off" and China faces its first real military test.

"Before Xi dies of old age or illness" is more accurate. You just know he wants to be the guy to fully unite China. They will definitely gonna try to invade Taiwan within this decade.

>They will definitely gonna try to invade Taiwan within this decade
The only way that happens is if China notices the US got itself into some really deep shit elsewhere, and takes the opportunity. That's unlikely in the 2020s.

China will more likely try to take Taiwan decades from now. They want total technological independence and hegemony before that.

This is precisely more reason why Xi Jinping WON'T invade Taiwan in his lifetime.
He can simply not do anything about Taiwan and would have his "legacy" in tact for overseeing China's technological and geopolitical rise. Risking failure with a botched or costly Taiwan invasion is going to ruin his legacy.
China has a whole slew of aims and ambitions before they go for Taiwan.

Near but not that near. The guy who replaces Xi will be expected to do it as part of his own legacy.
